Some of you comic con goers may already know about this. I think this is going to be good. I didn't see Heavy Metal 2000, but I do think that the people who hated that are going to love this. I got a strong feeling its heading towards the big screen.

I would be more excited about this if Heavy Metal (both the magazine and the movie) were more well-known. However, tons and tons of technological advents have surfaced in animation since that movie (hand drawings were the only technique used in it), and I can see countless example of new animated segments being used in this second one!

I think the best Heavy Metal magazine inspired movies aren't really neither the 1981 movie or 2000 but NausicaäOf The Valleyof Wind and Dragon's Heaven. To be specific, they're inspired by Moebius, especially the latter one's line art.
