A peasant walked out by the door,
"Sir Knight, Milady," He bowed, "It truely is a great relief to see you have returned. Worde hasn't been the same since your father passed on... All the noble houses are squabbling for power, claiming they each speak for the will of your father. It is reassuring to see a loyal retainer and someone who might convince them all to speak with one voice... Worde has to be united if we hope to stand up to Laus and Ostia like we once did..."

Kel licked his lips as he moved closer to the last remaining, stubborn bandit leader. He made sure to come to a halt with quite a bit of distance between them. While he was the best, he wasn't completely confident as to how a prolonged battle with this bear of an axeman would turn out.
Much to his disdain, logic dictated that he wait back and attack with the others. So he did so, his fingers beating a rhythm on his hilt as he waited to use it.

Your legacy shall drift away, blown into eternity, like the sands of the desert."Alright, the Knights are all off slogging about on their own in the distance," Bridget said, "Who wants to finish this? Everyone follow my lead, we'll remake the formation down and east of here. ...If I mess this up, I'm expecting you to help ...alright Charlie?"

"Don't think that Tadas will fall like some nameless knave in the streets," The Bandit roared clutching his axe, "If I must die, then I will not doing ingloriously!"
"Ow. ow..." Bridget said, clutching her arm, "Alright... Charlie could you cover me? I really don't want to risk round two..."

Charles scowls as he watches combat with the leader of the ax brigands, bridget firing off a few well-placed arrows at the man before he returned fire with his boomerang ax. Victor seemed to have him pinned down, his swords delivering crucial blows to the man by striking hard into his side with each strike, while his throwing axe seemed a little off for close-range combat with the nimble thief. Charles heard bridget call out, and his scowl deepened under his helmet as he saw the wounds she seemed to carry. He moved ofer to her and lifted her up, using his armor as a shield against any attacks the beigand might use next round.
"Easy there, lady. You've done a superb job today... Get some rest, let the others finish this one..." Charles muttered as he took a sideways glance at the Brigand, Tadas. (Move 2 east, Rescue Bridget)
Pokedy Poke-pokeHaving left the lone villager with some words of assurance, the Lady Worde and her knight raced on toward the scene of the ebbing battle. Halting by the road, Sen gave the Marquisse room to dismount and join the rest of her forces.

Charles saw the man approaching, Covering for the archer as he kept between the axman and her. " Get ready...! " He whispered, as he turned toward the bandit and caught the ax-blow in his arm, forcing a yell out of Charles. His grip weakened for a moment, his arm shaking slightly from the slash before he pulled it back. "I... got you... right NOW!" Charles roared, thrusting his lance to counter the bandit's attack. It seemed to catch the man, striking him square in the chest as it struck deep within him and forced him to stagger, muttering his last words before falling into a heap, dead.
Charles drew his lance back, leaning on it slightly from the exertion of the battle as he took several breaths from the conflict. "You see that? That is why no one can stop us. Not this bandit, not anything!" He muttured, before slowly moving back towards the inn. He had been in a long fight. He really, really wanted that drink.

Pokedy Poke-pokeKel let out a disappointed sigh as the dust cleared. Another kill lost. Aw well, there's a lot more bandits in the world then that.
He kicked his steed into motion, trotting back towards the inn. As he passed the armored Knight, Kel threw him a little salute with a grin. " Excellent counter, sir Charles." He commented. He made a stabbing motion. " Right in the chest! Excellent job!"
Your legacy shall drift away, blown into eternity, like the sands of the desert."Aye, we won for today" Charles mumbled, shuffling his feet closer and closer to the inn. "Ask the missus when we will be heading out to the castle, I rather we get there sooner than later with the attacks on the rise..." He added, shaking his head slightly. "I'm really itching for that drink now." He thought numbly as he moved closer and closer to the inn. "I fought hard, took a licking and gave it back out, now let me drink and sleep for a time. And then tomorrow, we set out again." He thought grimly for a moment, before turning to Bridget with a slow nod. "Aye, he's got his motives alright. But he's with us, and beggar's can't be choosers in the open field."
"I share how you feel though. He isn't exactly the most... straight-shot of men I've seen." Charles added as he looked back to the cavalier.

Pokedy Poke-pokeKel directed Kicker towards his fellow cavalier and Her Ladyship. He waved in greeting a casual greeting and came to a stop alongside the pair.
" Well Sen, I have to rate your performance today as less than wonderful." He mocked. " Tsk, tsk, tsk. Looks like I beat you again. Really you've got to break this losing streak, my friend." He chuckled and slapped the other mounted knight on the back, before turning to Nadine.
" Well, Milady, you seem to have done better than Sen, although that's hardly an accomplishment." He grinned. " Excellent lance work."
Your legacy shall drift away, blown into eternity, like the sands of the desert."Thank you, Kel. Your praise is greatly appreciated... but would it not have been for Sen at my side I would have surely not lived to stand here at your side" Nadine said, looking at her knight who fought by her side with a deep appreciation.
"I'm glad to see that everyone is safe after that battle. If nobody is injured then we must go rest for the rest of the night. We part for the keep an hour before the first light. Every moment that passes without order being established on our land is another moment that bandits can use to wreck chaos and invade our villages" Nadine said resolutely.

The Group returned to the inn. After a moment of wary silence of seeing a group of armed travellers enter, they were met with applause and cheery from the other patrons.
"The Banditry are more fierce than I imagined," The Innkeeper said, scanning a ring of keys, "If you'd like, I've got some good wine I was keeping in the cellar. It would be the least I could do to give the lot of you a free round."

Charles grunted as the bandit threw the ax into his armor, grunting at the hefty blow it made. He could feel a small amount of blood leaking from his chest slowly as he watched the ax ricochet back towards the man, and he grimaced slightly. "Damn, I can't do much but take blows. No matter... Best wait for... argh... the Calvary...!" He pulled back a ways, making sure to hide within the woods for cover. (movement 2 north, 1 east)
