This is true. But I don't hold this against him, because I think it's how pretty much anyone would react in that situation. Lelouch is a very human villain, and that's what makes him flawed. Which makes the comparison to Light very interesting, because while they share a lot of superficial qualities, Light's inhuman nature is what makes him so flawed.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.
I was with Suzaku until...well, all of R2 really. There he was just such a villainous prick who still kept on whining about how everything was Zero's fault. I know the dude has issues but he took it so far that I just lost all the empathy that I had for him.
And remember Nina and Ougi? Yeah, they earned their status among fans.
