Mmm, sure? *shrugs*
It's sort of like Transformers Robots In Disguise got turned sideways and shoved into the Transformers Generation One continuity. Despite it not making any sense.
Yes, it was retconned. Initially, in Japan, Cybertron was its own series. When it got put in the US, it was retconned by the American division into the Unicron saga. Japan, up until whenever the subject of the first post happened, claimed that the two canons were different universes.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I meant in-universe. did the black hole do a Cosmic Retcon on the events of the first to series or did they still happen?
Oh. Well, it's not completely clear how the black hole retconned reality. See the section on "continuity" in this article.
should this subject be one of the times we should not listen to Word of God and deem "Cybertron" a stand-alone series? I want to know because of a Mega Crossover fic I'm writing that from "Cybertron" and I want to use storylines from the other two parts of the trilogy but I also don't like to take too much from a particular series when I'm already using it's characters.

Armada and Energon were retconned because they had a lot of negative things said about them from fans.(even if they liked the toys) Cybertron is really a stand alone series.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture Rack
No, the retcon was just "Cyberton is a sequel, Armada and Energon happened, but it's not clear how much, since the Autobots can't remember very well".

It's not Word of God. It's stated in the spinoff comic. It was even mentioned on the official website that Cybertron took place after Energon.
A: The Story of TRANSFORMERS CYBERTRON takes place approximately 10 years after the end of the ENERGON story.
Note that the question was answered in-character by Vector Prime. So, Fourth-Wall Mail Slot. Different thing from Word of God.

something

it is now official in both the US and Japan that "Cybertron" is indeed a sequel series to "Armada" and "Energon". so does that mean the Unicron Singularity retcon the events of "Armada" and "Energon" in it's reality warping or did it just change the characters perceptions of history?
