It makes me as a fan disheartened and saddened to see [[Hatedom how much hate and heat these cartoons get from animation buffs and the Internet at large.]] Do you think that they (new cartoons) deserve this kind of heat?

[up] This question is too general and vague to answer. Like in everything, there are good and bad cartoons at any given time. Some of them deserve hate, some don't. Some ARE hated, some don't.

It would depend on what the cartoon is dude. Now I am not all in Hate Dom when it comes to new cartoons. But most of them I've seen have effort other times they don't have effort. The only shows that deserve Hate Dom(In my own view they do) are Johnny Test, The Problem Solverz, anything that is animated horribly to the point of stabbing your eyes out with sharp needles, and Fan Boyand Chum Chum.

[up][up]What I meant by the original post is that these new shows always seem to get sizeable Hatedoms regardless of its actual quality and before it even hits the airwaves. I was asking if they are so bad that they really deserve to have this much hate.

[up]I know you were. And I'm just saying that it depends on the show. So mileages may vary

I don't even understand the OP.

So all I can say is, if it's not ponies, it probably deserves hate.

^Good thing I've watched at least one episode of Adventure Time and Regular Show before proclaiming my profound hatred for the shows. If there was only a way to save the time I wasted.

Oh well, I'm still trying to compensate for the time I wasted watching a full episode of Problem Solverz.

Some people just can't see beyond the nostalgia.

Banned entirely for telling FE that he was being rude and not contributing to the discussion. I shall watch down from the goon heavens.

[up]Transformers Prime and Animated>Original Transformers.

GI Joe Renegades>Original GI Joe.

Just go and rewatch an 80s cartoon once in awhile. If you can honestly do that and not come back with a newfound respect for cartoons made now, then I really think you're not judging fairly.

Eh?

B-but it's the 80s we are talking about. They sort of had their own little, bizarre world.

Besides, we are talking about quality here, something that is incredibly subjective and not worth discussing. Just because you think something is better does not necessarily means it is. As much as I hate gross-out cartoons, there will always be someone who likes the genre, for example. Same goes for everything. In other words, YMMV.

The best example I can think of of a "new" show being much better than its predecessors is My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic.

Seeing the threads in the WA forums, I would say there is a sizable number of shows that are currently airing and are well-regarded.

Example: Besides the Ponies one. Compare the 90s Avengers with the current Avengers, it seems your hatedom rule is backwards in that case.

I don't see the purpose of hating any work, besides Shakespeare anyway, so I'd go with no. Hatedom is a rather bad reaction anyway.

[up] Thank you.

That's what I've been trying to say, but couldn't. This whole thread is a situation wherte the solution is to simply say, "To each his/her own."

Damn...

[up]Who's Moe? And do the people who don't love Fi M love the original My Little Pony? 'Cause unless they do, your statement serves absolutely no purpose and is pretty ignorant yourself.

Moe Dantes. What did I say that was ignorant? Better yet, I didn't even mention the original series, only FIM since its considered pretty good.

Elaborate with what you said dude, because I'm getting the vibe your making random assumptions.

[up] I'm starting to noitce this of this Moe guy, too...

What's up with him, anyway???

Is he.... A Fanboy?! That's definitely no good, then.

Besides, I know a ton of shit from the 80's and 90's that sucked to me and is not worth revisiting any time soon, only because they set up worse things in the 00's. The 00's shit can be traced back to the 90's shit, which can be traced back to the 80's shit... Suck is Eternal!

Close enough, he puts the original He-man on a pedestal and sees anything that doesn't "live up to it" to be inferior which would be almost every other cartoon. I suggest not attempting to contradict him.
