Nah, we are not going to be put into the business of advertising bans in that manner. We have to be very careful not to become a Wall of Fame for trolls; they live off of that stuff. We also aren't into gloating or gravedancing; that sets a very bad precedent, especially for bannees who are rehabilitated.

All right, I see your point, it was just an idea that came to me during that ATT discussion about vandals that had already been banned. Thanks for the response.
Someone did tell me life was going to be this way.

(with apologies for gratuitously copypasta'ing this from Ask The Tropers)
Would it be possible/technically feasible to put a message in the publically viewable edit histories of banned tropers saying "Edit banned at <time/day/whatever>" or something along those lines, so that the people cleaning up after a vandal (or just surfing a page's edit history later and then Wiki Walk'ing through a vandal's history) know that the offender has gotten Banhammer-flavored JUSTICE?
EDIT: Gah, the subject line was supposed to be "<x> was banned", but apparently that doesn't work on subject lines *sadface*
