Personal Favourite Album Closer: Coil, "Batwings (A Limnal Hymn)" (Musick to Play in the Dark, Volume Two)

  • "House of Straw" by Bury Your Dead on Beauty and the Breakdown

Let me also mention a really interesting closer. It's not one of the best closers by far, but it deserves attention for how good it is in comparison with the rest of the album it's in.

Kill A Celebrity is an album by a certain band called Ramallah. The album itself is a generic nu metal with rapping complete with Public Enemy-worthy lyrics, and it's very very repetitive; not necessarily BAD, but repetitive and samey as hell.

And then, when you think they got nothing else to add, enter "Bye-Bye". At first I thought it was obviously a cover of an old song I never heard, since it's so catchy, fun and 80's flavored, but it's not! It's an original song after all! It's impressive how they pulled that off after showing nothing new in 15 GODDAMN TRACKS.

Man, if those guys make another album, it's better they figure out soon which song was really the best in that politically aware bore of an album.

No regret shall pass over the threshold!

Public Enemy-worthy lyrics

Is that a compliment or an insult? The context is muddying things up...

You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!
