Cletus, after rummaging through his bag, took out the bottles of gold dust from the golden plain. He handed them to Reccette.
"I've been thinking about this, and... well, you're in debt, so you need these more than I do. I'm not sure it's real gold, so you'll want to get it checked. Anyway, if we're ever in the neighborhood, I'd be more than happy to help again."
...and that's terrible.Link started for a bit, feeling the pix enter his wallet and seeing the treasure disappear- but the thing that surprised him most was the red-and-silver glass shield that had appeared on the shelves.
Almost mesmerized, he picked it up. "This shield..." he mumured. "It seems so familiar, and yet - I've never seen it before..."
He took out the 777 pix, handing it over to Recette. "I'll.. have this, Miss." He continued looking at it in wonder.
"Waaa..."
Recette's thoughts completely flew from the strange interruption of sound.
"Thank you! Thank you so much!" she cried. She stood still for several moments, before finally running over and hugging Cletus. "I... thank you! I'm... there's no way I won't pay the debt now! I know for sure that I can pay it!"
Tear smiled, very faintly. Things were going alright today...
Recetee blinked when Link spoke.
"Shield...?"
She turned. "Oh... um... sure! Okay!"
I don't remember that being in my shop...
She took the pix, brought the shield down, and slightly unsteadily handed it over to Link.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Taking the Mirror Shield, he placed it on his back, handling it with reverence.
"This shield... was used by the Legendary Hero?"
His eyes were resolute and determined.
"Then I will honor his name by using it as he would have." He turned to Recette, and his expression softened.
"Miss." He took a sparkling orange gem from his purse, even finer than the last one, and pressed it into her small hands.
"Take this. As a token of our friendship."
"I hope it suits you well. I would have it set in something nicer... but there isn't really time..."
He smiled warmly, looking down at her.
"You've helped me rediscover my legacy. It was an honor to help someone as brave and sweet as you."
"Thank you."

Recette blinked, as she held up the gem and looked it over. "I... thank you. I won't sell this one! I'll keep it around forever, so I can remember you!"
She smiled up at Link. "Eh-heh.... I'm not sure what to say to all that, you've all been really nice, and-"
Suddenly, the champions were back. Recette's shop was gone, replaced by that strange city they had been dragged away from.
Recette blinked. Where had they all gone?
She didn't have much time to contemplate this, because suddenly Alouette came running into the shop, demanding to know why she'd been gone so long.
Just another day in Recettear.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the champions a young boy was setting off on yet another escapade that would probably give his best friend some grey hairs. Little did he know this would be a bigger adventure than any he had faced so far.
"Come ON Matthew you never let me do anything fun!"
"Because it's dangerous! Remember the time you went cliff jumping Tyrell?"
"Oh don't be such a spoil sport, how was I was I supposed to know that the reason your dad could do it safely is because he has high Earth reistance?"
"But that's not-"
"Look if I start losing altitude I'll just summon fireballs. Heat rises so warm air currents will make it go up. See you at Kalay!"
"But it's made of wo-Tyrell don't!" Matthew yelled as his friend once again jumped off a cliff without a thought to the effets of gravity.
"Tyrell you freaking idiot!"
"Well, this IS pleasant...but why does my head hurt?"
Tyrell wondered about this for a moment, but couldn't think of anything. Suddenly, he started dropping from the sky. It was only then that he noticed that he had run out of PP.
"Oh, THAT'S what the manual meant by "Runs on physnergy"...crap."
As Tyrell looked upon the rapidly arroaching ground his only thoughts were: "Great, yet another stupid death. The ressurection costs are SO coming out of my allowance. This is going to hurt."
But then...
Any of the champions who happened to be looking at the sky might have noticed the glider (which was now on fire) crash nearby.

Link opened his mouth to reply - then there was a sudden rush of wind, and he found himself standing in the green meadow. It was all so unexpected that he looked around for a moment in dazed confusion - before settling down.
Another portal. I would have liked to have talked to her one last time, though... But that's ok.
"So... where are we now?" He looked around, noting the strange crystal city in the distance. That looked ... interesting, to say the least.
Then he noticed the flaming craft crash into the ground some distance away from them, and immediately ran over.
"Hello? Are you okay?"

"It's ok, I've got you..."
Taking him by the shoulders, Link pulled him out of the wreckage and carefully laid him in a nearby spot of flat land, placing him in a comfortable position and laying his weapon beside him.
He straightened up, and turned to the rest. "A new arrival?"

Takamachi Nanoha stirred, her eyes shut but her mind awake. Even though it had been a full two weeks ago, and everything had turned out fine, the memory of the Book of Darkness/Reinforce, and having to seal her permenantly, was hard to dismiss. Still, everything had turned out fine. Hayate was recovering in the hospital, the Book's rogue defense program had been destroyed, and everything was fine. Even better, tomorrow she was going to go with Fate to see Hayate at the hospital.
Nanoha smiled at that thought. Hayate would be so happy to see them. Supposedly, the girl was going to get out of the hospital soon. And Fate and Nanoha would be there to see her. Without opening her eyes, she took a deep breath and tried to settled down to sleep again. Even though her bed felt a bit lumpy. That was kind of weird.
She was unaware of her new surroundings. Nanoha lay on the ground, near the other champions. She was clad in her pink pajamas, and looked utterly out of place lying on the ground. Next to her hand was Raising Heart, her intelligent device, currently in its dormant state of a small red marble on a simple necklace. Nanoha rolled over. Why couldn't she get comfortable?
The haze of exhaustion began to lift when she started to realize the ground definitely didn't feel like her bed.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Cletus, when asked, would give Rory the tools he asked for.
"This is actually one of the only checkups I've ever done without getting shot through most of it."
He was checking to see if the crash victim's pupils would dilate. They did so.
"He'll come to, but not for a while. Seems the safeties in his aircraft prevented too much damage."
...and that's terrible."Ah, crap..." said Roadbuster, realizing that a sudden portal- that was apparently invisible to all the other residents of the town save for the newcomers- had formed, and was rapidly gaining strength and power, first sucking him in with a bellowing curse.
____________________________________________
The place that Roadbuster found himself in was, superficially, quite similar to the other cities that he and the unlikely group had travelled to before- the spires, crystals, and glowing motes of light were all in abundance. But there was one glaring difference between those cities- each one of them compratively small- and this new place. This particular city was massive, stretching to the horizon and filling up the internecine space with all kinds of buildings, bridges, and strange architecture. Dozens and dozens of shrines, just like the one in the city, could be seen everywhere in the city, crystalline paths linking one to the next. Near the Autobot was a collection of shapes that resembled landing pads for enormous ships; the smallest of them was as large as a good-sized mansion. On one of the landing pads was what appeared to be a spaceship; but it was clear that this particular vehicle, little more than a hulk of glass on spindly landing pads, its translucent hull blackened and corroded by years of neglect. The initial impression that Roadbuster gleaned from all this- being a rather astute engineer himself- was that this entire complex was, at one time, some kind of hub, a junction between worlds that was once used by beings unknown.
Or perhaps not. Not far away from the landing pad complex was what appeared to be a statue of a humanoid figure, surrounded by a complex glowing nimbus of light-motes, arms raised triumphantly as it held something in the palm of its outstretched hands. The light of two suns, low on the horizon played off the crystals and spheres of light, causing the statue to shimmer with all the colors of the rainbow.

Nanoha finally opened her eyes when she heard Link's voice. She rubbed them with her hands, and sat upright... and was immediately struck with complete confusion. Almost immediately, she grabbed Raising Heart and drew her knees up to her chest. This wasn't her room, it was... where was this?! There was some kind of strange city, she was outside... she was dreaming, right? It didn't feel like a dream... and Nanoha was used to things that seemed like a dream, but definitely weren't by now.
She glanced up at the older boy who was reaching towards her, asking if she was alright. He didn't look like he was a TSAB mage... or anyone else she recognized.
"... Who are you?" she asked. Nanoha was scared, but not much. Had this been her first experience with anything strange or unusual, then perhaps she would've been more frightened. But Raising Heart was with her.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."With a sudden crash, another arrival announced his landing. There was a brief burst of dust upon impact, but when it cleared a new arrival had appeared. Unlike the others it was standing. And it towered over the others (Well, at least the human or near human ones). As it stood to its full height, it appeared as thus.
It was a tall being, wrapped in a dark gray cloak of some kind, but with its head fully exposed. As it turned, its head became clear. Painted bone white, the skull like mask held two yellow, vertically slitted eyes in deep recesses of dark red flesh. The mask had two almost panels attached to the sides of it, and the lower part seemed to hint at fangs of some sort. As it brought its head up fully, it spoke in a male voice that was raspy and highly annoyed.
“What is going on here?”
The Chew Toy of Gaming
Jak replied, "I'm Jak, and he's Daxter," pointing at the ottsel (who was making a rather poor attempt to start a conversation with Rey) when he mentioned him.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.

Drumroll, please...
There was several moments of utter silence. Strange, it hadn't been like that a moment ago... Recette blinked, and looked around. The air felt weird. Was it supposed to feel like that?
The second Link emptied the last treasure onto the table, there was suddenly exactly seven hundred seventy-seven pix in his wallet.
The sound returned to the world once more.
"... That was weird..." Recette commented. There was also a new item on the shelves.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."
