"What I want has not changed since the last time we met," Jack said. "I want an explanation for your attacks upon my friends and me. But first, allow me to do a little explaining of my own." She gathered her thoughts and spoke quietly.
"It is my duty to oppose evil and aid righteous causes wherever they are found. And it is my mission to protect the peoples of Earth. We agree on that point, and from what I understand, you are in need of some assistance. I want nothing more than to provide that assistance. I believe we need not be enemies. And I challenge you to prove me wrong. If you will explain what it is that must be done, and can prove that your methods are the best way to accomplish that, I will cooperate completely. I understand it is hard to trust a stranger, much less someone who seems opposed to you and whom you have fought against not long before. But if nothing else, I respect and admire your prowess in battle. If we must be enemies, at least have the courtesy to inform me of why we must fight. To fight without understanding why is madness and something I will not do. Please...trust me this once."
A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving. -Lao TzuKami's expression hardened. She wasn't pleased at all by this intrusion, especially today. Normally, she'd be annoyed by this. But today? Today it was even more irritating.
"... You're wasting your time," she replied, immediately turning away from Jack. "Now, leave us alone."
She took Chiko's hand in hers and began to speed up.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""If you believe trying to make peace is a waste of time," Jack said with a sigh, "then I am truly sorry for you."
She stopped and allowed the two girls to continue on ahead. So I will have to fight again, if only in self-defense. But I will not sit idly and wait to be attacked. How can we find out what they know? That would have to wait. For now, she needed to find out about this strange magic she now possessed. She was no sorceress and knew next to nothing about magic. She turned and headed for home. Perhaps there would be something there to help her understand how to fight properly. Ideally, one of the other champions who did know magic would be preferable, but she had chosen to make this last overture to Kami and Chiko instead. Now they were scattered once again. Such was the way of the world.
A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving. -Lao Tzu"Eh? Ah, sorry," Kami said, releasing Chiko's hand and slowly down. "I just wanted to get away from that girl."
Nanoha frowned, coming to a halt. Had Byakuren already left? She hadn't seen her the whole day... not since they'd gone to the gym. She was worried, had she got caught up in fighting the demons?
She looked up. At the moment, she was behind the high school building.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Skyla came to think of the same idea. Using her biotics to redirect some of the missiles, she aimed them at the robot, hoping that it would have the same effect as the missiles did on the blocks. Come on...
My RP site. Please feel free to join!No sooner had they gotten away from Jack, Chiko and Kami found themselves faced with... Something else. As the two girls started to slow down, something went whizzing through the air past them. If they took the time to investigate, they would see a syringe sticking out from the ground a few feet behind them.
"Ohoho!" Laughter echoed through the air. From atop a nearby lamp post stood a sinister figure in a black cloak. Her attempt at looking intimidating was somewhat dispelled by the white-clad maid clinging on to her for dear life from behind.
"You wanted to get away, to retreat, to retire... But it's out of the frying pan, and into the fire!"
Fast forward to the present to save the past!!!
The Gunner sat down on a bench nearby, face hidden as she scrunched up into a ball. She hoped to never go through that ordeal ever again... Especially after that random girl managed to see the two of them in that situation in a CLOSED STALL. SOMEHOW.
Though she was beyond mortified at this point, her mind worked furiously to disentangle the crucial information that was gleaned during the exchange. The tattoo of a black dragon... It sounded oddly familiar. Gunner wasn't pleased when she found out about it, though she suspected nothing yet. She actually thought this particular universe had given it to her... And in a way, that wasn't far off the mark. Still, something tugged at the ends of her mind...
Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected."So... umm... Meta-chan, want to go find some demons or something to kill? It might make you feel better!" Byakuren proposed, having come along as well. Demon slaying was the first activity to come to mind, even though it wasn't normally stress relieving, but the Gunner liked her guns, right? Using them ought to make her feel better about the rude girl that poked her nose where it didn't belong!
"Really?!"
Kami threw up her hands. Oh, this was just... just wonderful. Why the hell was it that this was happening today, of all days. Why couldn't this happen some other day? Why did it have to happen today? This was a pain?
"Don't you have anything better to do? This is annoying as hell! We already made one of your other friends leave, what are you going to do? Shoot more syringes at us? Because great, you know what? Shots are a pain, I don't like them! I had today set aside specifically for something else, and you people just keep coming by and ruining it. Idiots! Completely annoying interrupting idiots!"
As she ranted, Kami waved her arms and exaggerated her gestures rather thoroughly.
Nanoha resorted to looking through the school bathrooms to see if Byakuren was there.
"Hello? Bya-chan?" she asked.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""...Sure." The Gunner replied, uncurling a little and fumbling around with her hair accessory unnecessarily. This was something she did when she was nervous, and she took the needle out to tumble her tresses out freely. Said length of hair was enough to reach the small of her back and then some, and was a bit more voluminous than expected.
For she was a Dungeon Fighter, whose job was it to hunt monsters... And right now, her mood demanded that several be killed for the sake of the world and for personal reasons. Battle always helped to drown out any negative emotion the Gunner had, especially beings that threatened the safety of the regular people.
"But we don't know where they'll show up." She stated as an afterthought, glancing at Byakuren almost timidly.
Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected.A sudden gust of wind whipped past Jack, catching her hair before dissipating.
The same gust of wind blew past Michiru gently.
"Summoner?" a voice asked.
"Jenny - that's the elemental! It found something!" said Michiru excitedly. "Yes, Elemental?" she asked.
"I have tailed the girl; she and her accomplice are planning to do something - I haven't heard what. Another girl" -the voice described Jack- "tried to talk to them but was rebuffed. Then someone attacked them; I haven't seen who, but they launched a small glass tube with a long, thin piece of metal at its end at them."
The colour drained from Michiru's face. "Damn..." she muttered. "All-right. Elemental - go and inform Terrice - that's the girl that was with me when I Summoned you."
"Aye," said the Elemental, and was gone.
"Jenny - come with me."
Without further talk, Michiru turned and ran toward the bathrooms.
"Forget about them, Kami, let's just get going," Chiko said, continuing to walk forward now that her friend had got the ranting out of her system. Maybe if they ignored enough people, they'd actually get to their destination in a reasonable time, "We're not even beginning to do anything wrong, today..."
Byakuren, too, produced her transformation... thing, having put Shoumaru in her bag, In short order, the magician was back in normal attire and stood next to a tiger. Now there was just the minor matter of finding some demons to kill...
Around the city, the shadows began to bubble.
"Um... Let's destroy those monsters as fast as possible..." Gunner told Byakuren as she too changed into her magical form, which looked more like a cosplay of a military uniform armed with a gun gauntlet than anything else. A little glowing gear held her hair in place instead of the customary giant needle, and the skirt seemed a bit too short, reaching higher than her preference of knee length.
"It's a bother fighting in such a flashy uniform..." She said, lampshading the uncomfortableness some people felt when fighting crime in dresses. "And I don't want to attract attention..." The Gunner said, fidgeting in the mockery of Empyrean dress uniforms.
Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected.Hm. Might as well take what we can then. Well, now we need to- their conversation cut off as they heard some noises nearby. Looking around the immediate vicinity, they could not see anything as the cause for their disturbance. Why do I have the feeling we're missing something here? "What do you mean?" Well here's what I'm thinking; One: there was a fight going between two groups and that's between our group of "champions" and some other group, while we don't even have a clue to what's going on. Two: No one has even told us the situation until we got some info on our own, probably old news by now. And three: I'm sensing something dark here in the city, dont know where but I know it's here. Aqua was startled at Xigbar's surprising analysis, but was more or less relieved to know there's something they can do. "Maybe we should find the others and figure out what's going on. It's our chance to help solve this mystery."
Xigbar snorted, "Mystery"? What are you, a kid? Shaking his head, he redirected his focus to the outside world. Aqua sprinted to find her soon-to-be compatriots, hoping she will make it in time.

[DATA LOST]"...Okay that's it. I am officially bored." Terrice annonced to no one in particular.
Waiting around for Gunner and Byakuren to return in front of an empty classroom with nothing to do and no one to talk to was that a gust of wind?
Wind doesn't happen indoors. What could cause OH SHI-oh wait no the Air elemental. Riiiight. Heh. Heheh.
No need to assume that ghosts or any of Chiko's other friends were sneaking up on her just because something odd happened. Even though they could. At any time. And might actually do that. And she'd be near defenceless if they did. Okay maybe she did have cause to be nervous after all but still, no need to jump at sha...dows. Terrice was reminded of how she'd seen one of Chiko's friends controlling shadows or something when they'd first met.
...I think I'd like to go find Gunner now.
"Walk with me. You can say what you have to say when we find the others." Terrice said to thin air, in case the Air elemental actually was there. Byakuren had dragged Gunner off in the same directions the bathrooms were so that's where she'd look first.

TETRIS'D
The missiles did as hoped, exploding the robot. It hadn't finished making life difficult for the champions, however, as its death sent a signal for the blocks to fall faster... and now they were no longer creating neat, unbroken row due to the tilted, smashed nature of the robot and various other deflected blocks.
Were anyone to notice, they might be aware of Rey, seemingly hovering at the edge of the school grounds, still looking around, apparently not yet having found whatever he was looking for. He seemed rather frustrated by this point, though it wasn't stopping his determined running around on the grounds.
Easing back into life one step at a time

"What do you want?" Chiko asked, frowning at the intruder. Eugh... can't we be left alone for one day? If people don't ask about the arm, it's Kami's eye, and if they don't ask about that they just want to be nosy...
