Okay, I have this (Frankly) Mind numbing revelation about cowboy bebop, and if I don't share it, it's going to claw its way out of my chest and start hunting people for food.

I NEED some knowledgable cowboy bebop fans to talk to about this one...

Need like AIR.... (remember the aforementioned chest bursting thing)

Please... oh PLEASE tell me that there are some people with a current working knowledge of the series who would understand the Labyrinthine, and EXTREMELY subtle plot points that I'm going to string together!!!

PLEASE!!!

(Hint: This fits into "Fridge Brilliance", btw... as well as some other tropes, OH SO MANY TROPES!!!)

Anyways, I need to know there are some Cowboy Bebop fans on here before I post my knowledge...

I will be monitoring.... ;)

This is silly.

In any case, you'd be better off posting it in the series' thread. As for being knowledgeable, I've watched the series recently, if that works.

I'm going to guess that no one will care about your revelations about a 12 year old anime thats probably been seen by more people than any 10 other anime combined.

Oh, please, DBZ has been clearly seen by far more people than Cowboy Bebop.

It's still pretty high up, though.

Oh thank god... I dont know the proper ettiquite for posting this... so I'll just spill my guts out and hope for the best.

  • Deep Breath*

  • Sigh*

1. Gren *IS* Julia

We learn in the episode where faye meets gren, that gren and visious are old war buddies from the titan wars. We also learn that Gren underwent a "Procedure" at the behest of vicious.

We also see gren on the moon that makes women into men, and he has BOOBS! (being changed back into gren by the atmosphere of the moon)

2. Gren (Julia) *IS* the source of Red-Eye (Bloody Eye)

It's his/her menstrual blood!

In the first episode "Asteroid blues" we hear the "Mooks" stating that it takes "Months" to make one vial... Of course... it's produced in a monthly cycle!!!

Okay, what do you think so far?

I was implicitly indictating anime in the same class as Bebop, late-night 1~2 cour Otaku anime.

Seriously? Thats what you have for us? Thats some weaksauce WMG right there.

I'd seen both of those speculations floating around. I don't personally believe either one, but they aren't new ideas.

okay, well then.... here's anouther one.

IT's somewhat more speculative... that spike is actually dead the whole time, and the entire series is like a "Life flashing before your eyes" kind of pre death limbo.

The beginning episode has spike and jet chasing a guy and a girl who are running from the syndicate, trying to steal some red-eye... and they get mercilessly gunned down.

And the last episode, has Spike and Julia (source of the red-eye) running again... like full circle....

What if the guy from the first episode WAS spike?

LOL

It's a bit tenuous... but I think it works.

Also a very common theory about the series.

Here at Tv Tropes, we spend our free time establishing lists of possible Time Lords across multiple franchises and media that have nothing to do with Doctor Who.

Trust me, all the good WM Gs here have already been discovered, discussed, and/or discredited.

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial

[up][up][up] Mostly because they don't count as fridge brilliance in the least. There's that for one thing.

And two, these theories are kind of, well, dumb.

I would assume you see it no where, because menstruation blood does not give one super speed.

And hyperspace gates don't exist either.

Except that thats not the same thing at all. Menstrual Blood does exist, and almost certainly can't be modified to do that. On the other hand, Hyperspace Gates don't exist, so they can do whatever they want.
