Well, Yasora's sudden clumsiness wasn't unnotices. Since it was so much out of character, she was forced to give an explanation:

"Sorry, I was just talking with myself for a bit. I'll pay more attention now."

We all know who is to blame.

After a rather bemused look at Ranma when she got yelled at by the ghost child. Apparently the screaming was not as much as a priority as getting sleep. Although She had to admit that was a pretty good place to sleep, all snuggled up like that. Fortunately Reimu still manage to wake up on her own, to find Aya in a panic, actually looking like she was shaking with fear. "Reimu, this isn't about me being alone. Komachi is dead. She walked outside, something grabbed her, and something KILLED HER. HER SCYTHE IS ON THE OUTSIDE STEP COVERED IN HER BLOOD" She yelled, shaking the miko in rhythm with her hysteria.

"I don't know what it was, but it probably going to come after us next" She finished, wielding her fan. Whatever it was outside, Aya wasn't about to go easy on it.

"Shinigami don't die..." the now-awake, if still incredibly spaced-out, child said, looking straight at Aya. "Celestials would have killed them all if it was possible. Hopefully, it would have been painful..."

A rather unnerving laugh followed.

Reimu asked in a bit worried tone:

"Komachi went outside? What a fool! Why did she do something so stupid?"

But for now she needs to deal with another fool. Reimu stood before Aya, put the hands on tengu's shoulders and yelled:

"CALM DOWN, AYA! We cannot be sure that Komachi died. I doubt it's possible to kill that bitch. As for us, we should be fine if we keep our cool. No acting on instinct."

"Talking to yourself? That's a sign of madness, you know." Yuuka said teasingly as she passed Yasora.

Elly frowned at the current predicament. That ice fairy had pretty much frozen herself to the librarian, which would probably cause some problems. Maybe she should try and do something about that.

"Hey... fairy, forget-yer-name." Elly prodded Cirno's forehead. "Serno? Wake up now, pl-."

Wait... No, no more approaching sleeping girls. Too dangerous. Elly reminded herself, and promptly ignored Cirno.

"Eh!?" Cirno asked, leaning forwards and looking into Elly's eyes upside down. Part of the flexibility came from crushing her bones, though... not that the fairy noticed, given that it happened constantly and unless she was aware that it should hurt, it didn't. Fairy biology was strange. "I looked asleep!?"

"Hm, like you're the one to talk." Yasora answered to Yuuka.

She was going to make sarcastic remark about Cirno, but not in front of Yuuka. She was not that kind of mad.

"Oh please, would a mad woman send her clone into a device which melts one's bones into goo?" Yuuka asked sarcastically, complete with exaggerated eye rolling.

"Hm, you weren't?" Elly asked Cirno with thinly veiled relief. "Fine... just don't fall asleep on me."

"Elly~!" Yuuka suddenly called over her shoulder. "I hope I didn't hear you try and dictate when our guests should sleep back there!"

The gate keeper paled slightly and hurriedly stammered, "N-not at all, master! I-I just, I was, er..."

Smiling widely, Yuuka turned and approached her gate keeper, carefully carrying the young vampire in her arms as she leaned over Elly slightly, who tried to keep a straight face.

Yuuka seemed to scrutinise her servant for a while, her red eyes narrowed, then twinkling in amusement. With a small giggle, Yuuka said, "I think I see the problem here... well, remember to be courteous to our guests always, hm?"

As Yuuka turned and began to leave the basement, Elly looked highly troubled. "...Crap, she figured it out, didn't she? Now I'll never forget..." Elly sighed dejectedly.

Aya gave the ghost child a rather startled look after what she said and laughed about it. That was rather callous, especially from someone who was supposedly Yuyuko's sister. What she said was true though. Shinigami can't actually die, since they were technically already dead. But from what little she saw and heard whatever happened to her didn't sound any less painful. "Bu-but, the screaming..." She forced out, when Reimu shook her into consistency. The shrine maiden was right, the tengu was loosing her control on her animal side and needed to bring the reins back in.

"You're right, Reimu" She said, lowing the fan though not putting it away. The question of Komachi's status was up in the air, but that was a second priority right now. "But there is something out there." Thinking over what to do, rational thought actually managed to pull a plan together. "Listen, whatever it is I can out fly it. I can go for help and bring back an army" Aya may have been overestimating her influence, but the idea that a shrine maiden (particularly the one keeping the already fluctuating boarder in check) was in danger would get most people running. "Do you think you'll be safe until then?"

Hell raven stared at the gatekeeper. She felt left out of a secret that would make Elly's reaction logical. Yasora didn't like being left out. She tried direct approach on Elly:

"What's bugs you? You are not so hyper about something that Yuukarin said... And while we are at it, does Yuukarin look really good in leather?"

Deja wu. Just before that, Komachi also said she'll be right back, and she was absent for quite a while. While Aya is not Komachi, Reimu didn't want situation to repeat. Also Rule of Drama states that Aya would return in the most dramatic moment - for example, when it'll be too late. Reimu needed to think fast.

"No, you shouldn't do this, Aya. You shouldn't leave the shrine like Komachi did!" Reimu quickly hugged Aya. "I don't want to lose you too. Promise me you'll not leave the shrine."

Elly gave the hell raven a wary look, not wanting anyone to know of what happened between her and that damn nekomata. The gate keeper would make damn sure that event would never be revealed, not even to her suspecting master. Instead, Elly tried focusing on the rather odd and random second question.

"Um... well, I suppose? I guess she does, yeah..." Elly shrugged. It had been how long since Yuuka wore anything like that? And even then, Elly always made sure to excuse herself. Leather-clad Yuuka only appeared in times that would shatter Elly's innocent and fragile sanity if she bore witness to her deeds. Elly's answer was just hypothetical. Plus biased.

Aya was actually caught off guard by Reimus plea to not leave. She really did care about her? To hear those words made something inside Aya swell up in her throat. Nevermind that the miko probably didn't want her to leave because she was afraid the monster outside would get her while Aya was gone, someone cared about her. "Okay" Aya said as she returned the hug "I promise, I won't leave the shrine" With renewed confidence, the crow tengu struck a pose, holding the shrine maiden in a side hug "Neither man nor beast can stop us!"

Yasora didn't took a hint. Or just didn't want to take a hint. She continued to question poor gatekeeper:

"Is that true that Yuukarin thinks you are too softcore for her?" Hell raven made not-so-innocent smile and second after that suddenly moved closer, invading Elly's personal space. "Your discomfort... I believe it's something a guest did to you, right?.."

Reimu made a sign of relief. All was according to plan. She shared her strategy with the tengu:

"We shall barricade the door and take our stand inside. Time works for us. If we manage to stall until the sunrise, the situation must turn into our favour."

Shrine maiden softly got out of Aya's hug and proceed to look into the front room.

Ranma's comment easily deflated Aya mood, who was now looking down at the ghost child with irritability. The snarky girl was really stating to get on her nerves "They were implied" Of course Aya knew that. In fact, she knew she fell into the latter category. "Why don't you go back to sleep?" The tengu asked, wondering how Youmu could handle the grown up one by herself.

Barricading the door until the morning? That sound like a good idea. If it was a youkai out there, it would loose whatever strength it got from the night and the full moon. When Reimu went to check out the front room, The reporter look looked as well, scanning around to see if it was safe before rushing over to the table and picked it up easily with her inhuman strength "You check the windows, I'll moved this in front of the door"

"S-softcore?!" Elly repeated with a small squeak. Where were these questions coming from? "M-me and master... w-w-w-we never do any- NO, NOTHING HAPPENED WITH A GUEST!" Elly suddenly yelped, blushing brightly now as the Forbidden Memory began to envelope her thoughts in a great big cloud of attention-seeking.

"Elly~" Yuuka's sweet, yet warning voice seemed to swim through the air, and Elly flinched before reiterating in a much calmer voice. "No, n-nothing like that happened at all."

Around Momji and Hayate, the fog around them grew thicker to their sides, almost leading the girls into a single path as the fog became worse, but not as bad as the fog to their sides, which neither could see through.

There was no sounds aside from the two tengu. Until...

Ka-Snap

They then herd a sound.

A distinctive sound of a camera sounded

As Aya got closer to the door, she would notice that the door was not slammed shut as she left it.

The door was slightly open. Something had opened it.

ka-snap

A definitive sound sounded. Something Aya could always recognize. It was the distinctive sound of Aya's camera. If one checked, they would see that Aya's Camera was no longer next to where she slept.

If one looked outside, Komachi's scythe was no longer there. The blood that dripped off the shrine was still there, now forming a trail leading into heavy un-seeable fog.

Instead, they would see Aya's camera sitting outside the shrine.

Right down the first few steps on the shrine, idly waiting in a light fog. The flash of the camera was on, illuminating nothing but extremely heavy fog which looked like a wall.

It was calling for Aya to walk out of the shrine and take it.

Seeing the slightly opened door on the other side of the room made Aya shutter as she realized what it meant. Was it watching us when my back was turned? Was it inside the shrine when we were in the other room? I wondered, the implications sending more chills down her spine. Stealth wasn't a uncommon trait amongst youkai, especially those that still lived in the wild, but to sneak in and out of a shrine with such ease was a horrifying thought.

She went to cover the door up with the door as planned when she heard something outside. Horror stabbed through Aya's heart like a bolt of lighting striking a tree when she heard that all too familiar sound. It was her camera, an item of insurmountable value to the reporter. She looked through the rack in the door, wishing that it wasn't true. But there it was, on the step of where the scythe once was. Aya blinked, turning her head to the futon she slept in thinking that it was a trick of her eyes. But it was gone from where it once was, and now laying out there, in the elements, held hostage by a lunatic.

A somber mood hung over the tengu like a storm cloud. That's my camera She thought, which looped through her head like a mantra. Most people might might have not cared about something like that, but to Aya that camera was a part of her. It wasn't just the naughty pictures, or the job she used it for. It was an extension of her arm, like a samurai and their sword. He heart told her to rush out there a grab it, no matter the cost or danger. She just couldn't let it go.

And yet common sense prevailed on this one. She knew it was a trap. The same trap that was used on Komachi to draw her her out. It knew she would come out to get it, and strike her down for her stupidity. With a heavy heart, Aya closed the door as tears rolled began to form in her eyes, placing the table against it and followed with a nearby cupboard to to keep it in place. Once the deed was done, the tengu sat down with her back resting on the wall and her knees up to her chin.

JACKPOT. It seems Yuukarin ordered her servant to indure anything from her guests. It's so fun to tease her. I guess I can play with her a little.

Hey, you are scarring me. Do you really need to do such things? Utsuho objected.

I'm doing this for you, silly. You said you want a girlfriend, right? Someone other then Yuukarin. So I chose one for you, someone who is not scary and hardly do any harm to you.

I don't know how to feel about it. Why cannot we just return to lady Satory?

Because I'm no one's pet! Shut up already!

Elly gave Yasora a somewhat confused look, seeing as she had gone silent now. Well... as long as she wasn't probing that Forbidden Memory, that was fine with her. For now, she had to get that seemingly fainted librarian and not-sleeping ice fairy upstairs...

Yuuka, smiling cheerfully, said to Flandre, "So, how you feeling? better?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," Flandre replied, having been watching the previous proceedings in mild confusion and interest. "I didn't know you could clone yourself too! How many can you make?"

"Just the one." Yuuka smiled, allowing Flandre to walk on her own.

"I can make four!" Flandre said proudly. That was one thing she had over the nice flower lady.

Yuuka chuckled at that. "Really? you must be insanely powerful, huh?"

Meanwhile...

Over the sleeping form of the nekomata were two new figures. Undetected intruders. Such a thing should be impossible, considering Yuuka's near omnipotent sense when it came to visitors, but these two particular individuals happened to be in the know about realms like Yuuka's garden. Such a place was a similar, if inferior, design to their own realm.

"Is that Kazami up to her old tricks?" The first of the girls, a blonde person in a bright blue maid's uniform with a pink apron, asked. Her face wore an expression of disdain.

The second figure, who also had blonde, yet slightly longer hair, glanced at the sleeping girl. Despite her cheerful expression, the other girl knew her twin sister was disinterested in her.

"Too young," The angelic-winged of the two shrugged. "Probably a guest."

The first of the girls stifled her laughs. "A guest? Please, she's totally been drugged up and kidnapped! Or maybe a new servant?"

"Why does it matter, Mugetsu?"

"Well, if this girl's gonna be working with that stupid weakling with a flower and kid fetish, she's gonna have to get accustomed to the dangers of her job!" Mugestsu replied with an evil gleam in her eye. "...you know, besides being around her all day."

The second girl, known as 'Gengetsu', sighed and shook her head, still not losing the cheerful expression. "Whatever happened to just declaring war and charging the front door?"

"It gets a tiny bit boring after six thousand, three hundred and one attempts." Mugetsu shrugged. "Wanna try something a little different tonight."

And with that, Mugetsu picked up Chen, slinging the girl over her shoulder. "Let's try that 'human shield' tactic! Might break our stalemate!"

"I don't think she's human," Gengetsu pointed out, opening the room door. "But fine, let's try it."

Marisa followed Mima. The trip towards the hot spring was, so far, remarkably uneventful. There were a few wandering yokai, but none of them were of the 'stupid enough or confident enough to attack, or worth attacking, or worth stealing from' variety. At least, so far. That was a bit disappointing, actually, part of the fun of incident resolution was defeating yokai of increasing strength.

The ill fairy remained asleep.

"Oh, well, I hope you feel better!" said Kaguya quickly, before physically patting Mokou on the head. It wasn't clear what she was thinking when she did it, not that she knew herself.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

The two tengu continued running towards the shrine. In their slight state of panic, they hadn't noticed the fog forming so thickly on their sides until it was too late. The fog had gotten so thick that both had to slow their pace in order to not lose each other.

"Ah, it's getting hard to see. Are we even going in the right direction?" Hatate asked, walking carefully behind Momiji.

"I can smell Aya's scent strongly over there. We should be okay as long as we follow that," Momiji answered. The wolf tengu was trying her hardest to be the calm one in this situation. With Hatate's lack of battle experience, Momiji would have to be the one to fight and make sure the crow didn't get injured. So, she needed to be calm, collected, on her guard, ready for anything that may try to injure the both of them.

Ka-snap

Momiji suddenly stopped in her tracks, causing Hatate to bump into her. "Did you hear that?"

"Yeah, it sounded like a camera.. i-it might be Aya!" Before Hatate to could run off, Momiji quickly grabbed her by the wrist.

"Wait, it can't be her, not even Aya would be stupid enough to go around taking pictures. Not after what we just heard, what we just saw," No, the wolf knew it had to be a trap.

They needed to hurry to the shrine where they'd be safe. At the very least, she had to get Hatate to safety. With set determination, Momiji began to run, pulling Hatate along with her as she ignored the fog and focused solely on the scents coming from the Hakurei Shrine.
