IF MVC 4 is really announced this weekend, this may be an indication that Disney has received a wakeup call. Disney pulling all their licenses from other studios and instead focusing on "in-house" productions like Disney Infinity was allegedly because they wanted to keep everything under one umbrella, but Infinity being discontinued and their game division being shut down might have finally gotten them to realize they had the wrong approach.
That is a horrible idea. That's money that could be better put towards literally anything else.

This song needs more love.Considering how often they hire alternative voice actors already (for things like Disney Infinity and the cartoons,) I doubt that they'd waste too much time with it.
Though I'm sure it'll still happen depending on a combination of cost and how up for it any given actor would be.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse Alberia@KnownUnknown: Kingdom Hearts is 100% Disney-owned, I thought? I mean, it says "(c) Disney / Developed by Square-Enix".

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!
Um...are we sure that's fake? How do we know it's fake? Because I kinda think it looks legit.
Also, is this guy still pulling stuff out of his ass?
PSX is coming in literally less than 24 hours (it's at 9:30 am tomorrow, right?) and I'm not sure what or who to believe...
I want to believe we'll see Marvel vs. Capcom news tomorrow, but I don't want to believe that it'll get rid of the X-Men characters and Dr. Doom.
Because if it's true, the whole "Marvel pretending that X-Men don't exist because of how Fox has the movie rights and doesn't want to share them" thing will have gone waaaaaaaaaay past the point of "petty".
EDIT: IIRC, Marvel vs. Capcom probably wouldn't even be a thing if it wasn't for X-Men: Children of the Atom, so if the Mutants don't show up this time, it won't be "sticking it to Fox." It will be madness...

This isn't Netherrealm who do craft a big story and film as a framing element.
Although trying to justify the dimensional insanity could be kinda funny if they went that route.
Edit: Screw it. Capcom needs to make a Netherrealm style story mode. Characters interacting, licensed music during the inevitable Guardians of the Galaxy chapter (Rocket could return or have him be an assist to Groot), the whole nine yards.

I think they may as well try for a real story this time. Netherrealm's success is in large part due to their games having hands down the best story modes in any fighting game. Obviously it won't be canon to anything (unless Marvel wants to have a comic series or universe in which it is - apparently the old versus series actually does have its own canon-to-the-multiverse-'verse), but putting that effort into it will draw casual fans into the game a lot better than the half assed single player efforts in every other Capcom fighter until Street Fighter V.
Which, naturally, ripped off Netherrealm's story mode formula because it works extremely well.
Why Marvel vs. Capcom 4 needs the X-Men.
Also, no one's going to seriously answer the question I brought up two posts ago?
I'd say that Marvel would want to avoid the Internet Backdraft that would happen if they remove any fan favorites on their side, like what happened when Mega Man (for some reason) didn't show up in MVC 3.
Also, the rights to Kingdom Hearts characters are wonky. Which is why I don't think Sora will be in Smash Bros.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!I don't think that Marvel is sufficiently annoyed at Fox to completely excise them from a non-MCU game. They are working together on a TV show after all.
This song needs more love.![]()
I'd have to see what SFV's story mode is all about first, but yeah, I'm kind of a sucker for fighting games with story modes.
Also, would you guys rather have Classic!Mega Man or X in MVC4?
As much as I love Classic!MM, I'd rather have X since he hasn't shown up in forever and I'm pretty sure weve had our fill of Classic stuff for a while. Plus, it could make for some interesting reactions for Tron Bonne:

It's basically a cheesy 80's-style action movie in fighting game form. And against all odds, it's glorious, using all the characters' fun character types to full effect.
A hypothetical Mv C 4 storyline probably wouldn't be too much like it, especially if it were written by a Marvel writing team, except for maybe where the Street Fighter characters are involved. I wouldn't expect it to be either, but to have more of a Crisis Crossover kind of feel.
But some of V's over the top-ness would be appreciated still. Especially if Zangief is in it. I want to see him MUSCLE! Wolverine's claws or something.

If Disney had a problem with violence overall, they wouldn't be okay with the likes of Kingdom Hearts or Epic Mickey. The way I see it, the very idea of a game where a player can actively make Mickey punch the shit out of Donald makes them incredibly uncomfortable, even in a cartoony way.
More on-topic, if MvC4 happens, I would really like them to keep the third-parties out of it. It kinda tarnishes the whole concept of two major sides colliding when you suddenly got this extra third guy or two in the mix. Keep it pure.
