If anything, that episode set Skyler up to be a bigger potential threat to Walt than anyone else besides himself. He's still his own worst enemy, though.
So I don't mind the introduction of Crazy Mc Scottishpants. She's meant to provide a contrast with Skyler, now Marie can't do that, and she's only a threat because everyone around her keeps on giving her second chances when she really, really doesn't deserve them. She's an exterior threat, but one being facilitated by the show's oldest villain.

Cynthia will be taking over Gus's organization, and will end up hunting down Walt and Jesse to avenge her boss
Whoever put her on there has inside information and knows she'll be important.
You guys like Let's Plays? You guys like shameless plugs? Well, come on down!It looks like Jesse's gonna be the one coming up with the plans. First "Yeah, bitch, magnets!" now robbing the train without anyone knowing its been robbed.

I thought either that or that he would die trying to get off the train.
For all that the ending was very cool, there's something I want to get out of my system first: most of the first half wasn't up the show's usual standards.
For all that it's easy to get overpowered by the last ten minutes — and they were a headrush, I agree — the first half can't be discounted.

What was your issue with the first half? The cold open? (I admit it seemed pointless But it set up the ending of the episode) Walt's Crocodile Tears? Walt's interrogation of Lydia?
Some of the writing was a bit clunky, and some of the direction was strange — the giant head that Lydia gets introduced by during the interrogation is OOC for the show. I called it being a writer turned director* before I later found out it was.

Lots of words: Easily one of the best episodes in the series and makes up for what I thought was an excessively dull Skyler episode previously. My only criticisms are the brief scenes with Walt Jr. and Skyler - not because I dislike them - but simply because they seem to distract from what seemed to be an otherwise very self-contained, focused heist story.
Also, I agree about Todd. I think they set up this great situation where they seemed to foreshadow him doing other things, which set up a good twist. And one smart thing was how they ultimately made his actions make a strange sort of sense. Previously, Mike makes a huge deal about how the employees must do whatever Walt and Jesse say without any hesitation. Then Walt and Jesse tell him that the most important thing is that no one besides them ever know about this robbery. Clearly, it ends up being a bad combination of instructions.
Also, my prediction for where the series is headed? Mike's going to die and Lydia's going to take his place running the business and distribution. My thought process is 1.) We already know that Walt and Mike keep butting heads, and now we know that Walt and Lydia actually agree on the issue of the 'hazard pay'. If she's at all capable of taking over, I think Walt would prefer that. 2.) The writers seem to actively be trying to set up this story so that Walt's actions directly mirror Gus's. It was vague up until this point, but now we're seeing a child being killed with Walt involved, just like how Gus was at the end of season 3. Remember what happened with Gus immediately after that? He tried to kill off / replace one of his employees (Walt). So if my guess is right, a similar situation is about to occur between Walt and Mike.

Attention: It's Skyler. With an e.
That is all.
Speaking of which, her "For the cancer to come back" line was the most honest thing anyone has said all season. Oh man...
As for Lydia:
Yeah... But maybe if her involvement with Fring/Madrigal seems natural enough, it won't seem too out-of-nowhere...? I don't know. It's neat to find out more about this operation, so I kind of like that she's not just another faceless flunkie under Mike's thumb. She has her own agenda, and Walt doesn't even know she exists (or that Madrigal exists...) so it should be interesting.
