So how many redirects do we need anyway?

We've got three redirects in the green (Bitter Sweetheart is the same thing as Bitter Sweet Heart). They've all been green for a while and nothing else has been green for a while. Let's add all three and call it a day.

I added the top three as redirects. They're the only ones in the green anyway.

That leaves us with six total. Do we really need Punchy Love, Hot And Cold, and Oranyan? I've never seen Oranyan used anywhere outside of this page, so I really think that should be cut. Although related to says its on 42 pages, so maybe its used more than I think.

Punchy Love and Oranyan are useless. I think Hot And Cold should stay.

[up]I don't think Hot And Cold should stay. I believe it is more misleading then anything else. It could apply to so many things it is not even funny.

I've never seem Oranyan outside this page either, but I don't think it huts having it. The first and 3d results on Google are relevant. And, of the three, it is the one with most wicks and inbounds.

It's a search term and it's fairly common to describe someone as running hot and cold in English.

But the term could apply to a countless number of other things. Including, to use a similar trope, Yandere. 'Hot and cold' may be used to describe any thing with two contrasting states. Tsundere is just one of these things.

But it doesn't apply to yanderes. Someone who is described as running hot and cold is alternately really affectionate and coldly aloof.

Interesting note: One of Yandere's redirects is apparently Dere Tsun, according to the related pages and alt titles bits.

Oh man, this ain't a rename. That's what I get for being paranoid/not reading, I suppose. Sorry for getting defensive.

If it's not already being done for it, could we do something like this for Yandere? I personally have no problems with the name, but it would give our more English-loving fans something non-weaboo to link to. tongue

You should probably rephrase the way you asked that because it tends to get people rather defensive. Getting a suitable searchable redirect for yandere probably wouldn't be too hard, though. Ax Crazy Lover, Ax Crazy For You etc.

^ I consider myself such a weaboo, but understandable reaction, as I'm pretty lax when it comes to throwing around terms without thinking. tongue "A name non-anime-loving users can understand/pronounce" might work better.

Can we consider this closed then? We now have three redirects to Tsundere.

Oranyan from what I have found is a Male Tsundere in a Boys' Love relationship... I dont really want to touch that one with a 10 foot pole but should probably stay.

So...do we need a new crowner to nuke the old redirects? How would that even work?

[up][up]That should probably be int he description if it isn't already. Just a quick line like that.

Well, we're not sure that's correct, so let's not be too hasty in adding it.

EDIT: This is all I found.

It is in the description, only it seems to be more complicated than that:

Oranyan is sometimes used to refer to a male tsundere character — incorrectly since it means the complete opposite.

I have no idea what that's supposed to mean. An explanation would be nice.

A Type B Tsundere? Hell if I know... Bah remove it lock it and if some BL fan comes by they can explain it and fix it up.

What's the wick count on it? ( one sec)

42 wicks and 250 inbounds so maybe not. ( I thought redirect inbounds were bugged at 0?)

Going by the blog post Discar found, Oranyan should be taken as something similar to Ora-Ora (which apparently when turned to english is similar to "Oi!" "Oi!", or "a rude guy’s shouting") and Nyan-Nyan (a cat mew-mewing, according to the blog).

Anyone know Japanese here? Because that would be useful. Also, does anyone have examples of the term actually being used?

You Tube search" Nyan Nyan" with say Macross Frontier and you will understand that one quite fast. Ora Ora is like "oh brother" and such it's one of Detective Conan's Catchphrase (one of many)

I can see it meaning something like Tsundere.

Well I'm a fan of BL, but I don't believe I've ever actually heard the term. Though actually now that I think of it I might have heard it while watching Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. Which would indicate it was that yeah, it was a BL thing but I don't remember for certain.

If it's being used leave it.

If not cut it.

Well, it is being used a little, and this page is second on google searches for the term, so I guess we should leave it.

What about Punchy Love and Hot And Cold?
