It used to be that, while one needed to watchlist a trope/work page to get its related discussion page in your watchlist, you could de-watch the trope/work itself, while the discussion remains watched.
However, that seems to have changed. When I wanted to keep an eye on Space Plane's discussion, to keep track of a question I had about usage (but had no interest in watching the edits of the trope page itself, as happens from time to time), I de-watched the trope page itself thinking that the discussion would remain watched, but found that the discussion page was also removed.
Was this a conscious decision, a coincidence that some other change also affected this... or am I just flat-out misremembering "how things used to be"?
