Another one I gave up on is Naruto: One Man Team.
Uggh. I tried to tolerate it, but it was just so much for me to care about anymore, I quit. The wirting is genuinely good, but it becomes so over the top and ridiculous in it's bashing it just got too much to take seriously anymore.
And it seems to be a dead fic too, since there hasn't been an update in nearly a year.

Watch SymphogearI managed to read Naruto: One Man Team and enjoyed it. I just had to completely disassociate his Sasuke, Sakura and Kiba from the actual characters Sasuke, Sakura and Kiba in my mind. (Which was harder at some points than others. During Kiba's bits I kept thinking "Oh come on, an Inuzuka's failure mode should not be not enough teamwork!")
Shinigan (Naruto fanfic)I was able to tolerate that and the fact that naruto's backstory went into Rape Is The New Dead Parents territory, but by the time he made Sakura to be completely brainwashed towards Sasuke and put into jail, I pretty much gave up on that fiction right then and there.

I'm not sure. Bashing a character to the point where it's obvious that they deserve to be punished by the authorities in some way is bad practice, but I think once you've done it, it's better to actually have them then be punished by the authorities than not. If you don't do it, then to remain consistent you've got to explain why, which functionally always degenerates into bashing of the entire structure of society. (I'm thinking of the way Chunin Exam Day turned out, with Sasuke bashing shading into Kakashi bashing shading into the-rest-of-the-village-except-Naruto bashing.)
I've been reading echoes. Love it so far. Really cool, and very unique and creative.
First theres a somehwat smarter naruto, than female naruto, than puppeteer naruto, and then a Insane, crazy, but Tragic naruto that kills children in away similar to the tragic child killer from Peter Lorre's M.

Watch SymphogearThis
fic is pretty short, but incredibly funny. Kakashi accidentally let's some info about Naruto's parents slip in front of Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. Sasuke begins trying to figure out if it's true or not.

Yeah, especially the true story about what happened when Kushina was kidnapped.
Here's another good fic I came across The Yellow Flash of Kiri
, Mei ends up running across a 6 year old Naruto, while visiting Sarutobi in an attempt to convince Konoha to help her get rid of Yagura, and after noticing how high his chakra reserves are convinces him to desert to Kiri and later adopts him.
It's worth reading just for Mei, Chojuro, as well as Zabuza and Haku who survive the Land of Waves arc and whom Mei invites back to Kiri, plus Utakata who Naruto convinces to stay loyal to Kiri. And depending on how you view the changes made to Kushina's backstory her as well since she's also alive.
Unfortunately...(according to the writer) Naruto will end up with a small harem consisting of Haku, Yugito and possibly the Shchibi's Jinchuriki.

I wonder, what is with all the Female Hakus? Sure, Haku looks so girly he can give Bridget a run for his money, but that dosen't mean he's actually female. I wonder if Kishimoto knows that most of his fanbase prefers Haku as a female?
I like fem!Haku as an indication that the story's set in an AU, like with the abridged series and a few others. But overall, I gotta be me and go for the BL option.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!... what does Sasuke have to do with anything? I'm talking about Zabuza and Haku.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Bleach Shippuden
is rather good. The grammar isn't that great at points, and it has some random lemons at a few points as well, along with just a few Author's Notes here and there (Not to many, thankfully). But it manages to capture the personalities of the characters really well, make a really good Energy equivalence system for both series, allows interesting interactions between both series's characters, and actually manages to make sakura into an awesome fighter.
It has funny Omakes, as well.

Neither goony beard-men nor rainbow-haired she-twinks will stand in the way of my dreams!(sighs) I wonder when Kitsune on Campus will update...it has been 7 months and it's just getting REAL GOOD...
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.
Pat. St. of Archive Binge
Uprooted
is really good. Naruto gets into Root, but, being Naruto, he immediately starts basically taking it apart from the inside. Quite hilariously amusing, and complete (just completed today, in fact), which is always nice.
Oh yeah, that one is very good indeed.
I'd also like to recommend Tempered in Water, a Fem!Haku fic where after Kakashi kills Zabuza (can't remember, but this time he split the dogs so some of them would prevent Haku from getting in the way, maybe), Naruto stops Haku from commiting suicide and persuades her to live, causing her to soon after swear loyalty to Naruto and follw him to Konoha.
This fic is especially notable in that it goes into details on how bringing someone from outside of Leaf Village would cause troubles and effects on isolation can have to a kid. It is overall very dark yet sweet, and definitely worth reading.
I wonder when Kitsune on Campus will update...

Tempered In Water is good yes, if only it would update (last time was January of '09). Also you're possibly thinking of a different story as in this one Naruto actually stabs Haku (when told to because of the failure as a weapon/tool to Zabuza) but misses all vital locations and leaves the kunai in to stop the blood flow causing an injured but still alive Haku to recover with medical assistance.

Unclouded TJ: Taking Bunny-Ears Lawyer too literally.
Yeah, it hasn't been updated for a long while, just when thing were getting more interesting.
Come to think of it, yeah, I think I confused it with Team 8 where Akamaru held on to Haku to stop him from protecting Zabuza. Man, his action during the Sound Invasion was awesome.
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.

I also liked that one; I was disappointed that it didn't continue. The aftermath would have been amusing.
