@ Nitramy
: I would so read it.
"That's only true because the plot loves shoving them aside and not expanding them like they totally deserve. Cough Shino Cough."
Shino had terrible characterization before Team 8 happened (At least I think that is what started it) and began to Stoic Badass routine he has now.
On the latest chapter: Kamui apparently turns you blind. Which totally messed up my headcanon that unique Mangekyo mutations like it and Shisui's eyes don't play by the rules. Such as Tobi's ability to phase while outside of Mangekyo form, or its lack of blindness since he uses it SO MUCH.
You know guys i was recalling the Talk we had of authors who did not want to listen to advice, i remembered an other, James D Fawkes, to make a long story short last time i checked his FS Nx Fo Z fic he was hell bent on making Medea the big bad, by having her taking the stupid choices:
she is a magus stranded on a place that is similar to the era of the gods but not quite so, she migth be rejected by elves and humans but she can control any man with ease and forge the papers that she needs to buy a house, make a living, and be at peace.
Fawkes insists on having her go to the deep and summon an army of Servants, ranging from Karna to Gilgamesh and let them loose on the Zn T world.
I debated on his comunity forums long and hard that idea was very stupid, and that Medea had already being overused as villain at least neo alpha is giving her a Character development via his FSN fic.
He promptly told me that people take the stupid solution as it's the easier path.
So i would like to reccomend you also avoid absolutley his naruto fic which is basically Naruto replacing Hitsugaya and then later Naruto splitting his soul to create hitsugaya, Momo being Hinata, Kisuke being Kakashi, and so on.
Tale of the Kurai Kitsune has been updated, and it went to hell, Naruto predictably betrayed Konoha, he shoved Sakura down a cliff and went to give Sasuke to Orochimaru in a silver platter all so he can Destroy Iwa who killed his previous team (the author used the cliche of psychotic grudge of Iwa against Minato and his kin) so to paraphrase @IANCE Naruto just signed his own death warrant and is now going to pass Kurama to an other poor folk.

The war Madara has waged against Konoha has started, Sasuke is becoming more corrupt with hatred and vengeance everyday, and Naruto is keeping a secret from him that could change everything. Sasu Fem Naru

That guy sounds lazy and pretentious. Yeah, Naruto should get taken back and replaced.
Skimmed the first chapter and saw the line, "You're such a teme". Teme's already a pronoun; "You're such a you".
@Ironypus
^ > Reasons why Naruto does not wishes to go with Jiraiya.
"I understand. Thank you for your time Hokage-sama." With another short bow the teen left as Tsunade sighed, an action mirrored by Sarutobi on the couch.
"You handled that well Tsunade. Naruto-kun may be angry but he is a loyal shinobi and seeing no other avenue he'll go along with the trip now. Admittedly begrudgingly but still of his own free will." The man offered up as the woman nodded.
"Is he always that bad tempered?" She asked as she glanced at him and saw him shaking his head.
"Only when things concern Jiraiya, Iwa, or Kyuubi. Otherwise he's respectful enough and light-hearted for the most part. It's just he really dislikes Jiraiya for seemingly ignoring him for the first eleven years of his life and then the man's attitude gets on his nerves, even though before losing his old teammates he was much the same way. Without the perversion though." The man added as an afterthought since Tsunade looked like she was about to comment on having another Jiraiya was a bad thing. She sighed again but nodded her head as she spun her chair around to look out the window at the village.
^ > Reasoning of Sarutobi and Tsunade of why Naruto should go.

That's both hilarious and sad. Chucking a tantrum because your neglectful godfather wants to make it up to you a bit, but you hate him because he was neglectful so you hand a dangerous, megalomaniacal psychopathic mad scientist a guy with over powered magic eyes so he'll help you destroy a city of rival assassins who want to kill you because your dad was super badass.
Ok, the second half of that sounds pretty fun, petty Disproportionate Retribution aside.
@Ironypus the thing is that Jiraiya attitude comes to Naruto as 'If you forgive me then i'll teach this or that, or this other thing' he feels like Jiraiya is bribing him into liking him instead of apologizing.
Oh and the man is trying to Naruto forget about his hatred towards Iwa, you know the bastards that murdered his first friends? and taunted him and tortured his love interest? oh sure wise course of action jiraiya keep telling Naruto to let go of the hatred but never bother to ask really why he hates Iwa so much.
EDIT at least tsunade figures the mother of all screw ups, too late:
"So close..."
"Huh?"
"I'm so close... So close to my goals... I'm not about to stop now!" Naruto shouted as he then shocked them all by doing the unthinkable.
He shoved Sakura over the cliff.

@Ironypus, nope, he thinks it's a great idea, he gets power, he destroys Iwa and he is happy, the world can burn as long as Iwa is burnt to the Ashes.
check the second quote of my last post, he is so determined that he shoved Sakura from a cliff because she was impeding his goals
Irony is that is Sasuke who is the sane one and wants nothing to do with Orochimaru.
I think that aside Hinata no one cared much about Naruto as a person.

@Ironypus yep, Kabuto had laid the offer during the search for Tsunade arc, Naruto took it up recently and planned how to break Tayuya out and tricked Sasuke onto it being a mission from Tsunade.
The only passion part was shoving Sakura.
Seriously the whole fic runs on the Idiot Ball, Naruto has a hatred of Iwa? you dont shoe horn him again as a Ninja, you send him to a Yamanaka or a shrink, you think of stimulating his loyalties, certainly sending him with the man he hates is not a good idea.
Really no one puts themselves on Naruto's shoes during the whole fic, they all want to Naruto to open up but disregard his feelings constantly, Kakashi by picking Sakura and Sasuke when Naruto clearly dint wanted to be on a team but Kakashi shoe horned him onto it, Sarutobi being an idiot for not paying attention to Naruto, Jiraiya for not having a brain, if the kid hates your guts bribing him is not the way to go, Tsunade if some one hits the nail on all the problems you take a step back, look at his perspective then decide, you dont force a ninja with a shaky loyalty with some one he clearly does not appreciates that winds up with him breaking his loyalty towards Konoha.
I get the the Kage's must balance the needs of the few and the needs of the many, but in this case it's the bonds of loyalty of your WMD versus the wishes of your friend, in this case the loyalty should outweight the friendship.

Not to defend the author, but there is precedent for Konoha screwing over valuable assets to the point they desert (as in: Sasuke, and maybe Orochimaru).
For a Protagonist Journey to Villain, that doesn't sound terrible...
Oh wait...
The author is portraying it as heroic, right?

1 2 We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be. -KVMay I ask where did he say it was the right thing to do?
Edit: got confused between the two authors, if anyone else had the same problem:
- The current conversation started from a post where DI rants about 2 topics (we are talking about the second topic):
- 1) a fic writer who uses the screen name (which may also be his real name) "James D. Fawkes".
- 2) a fic called "Tale of the Kurai Kitsune", which (in DI's words) "has been updated, and it went to hell".

1 2 We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be. -KVI know, I left it there for anyone else who may have been confused too (that includes the people who only read this but don't reply).
That actually works as a Protagonist Journey to Villain.
Now I started reading the fic, I get the impression that people don't realize their possession sues come off as villain protagonists when the people in the audience aren't also inserting themselves as the Possession Sue main character.
1 2 We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be. -KVOn an unrelated note, is anybody here going to take one for the team and pick an avatar for themselves? Cause that would really help in trimming this field of black, white, gray, and red.
I mean, maybe it's me, I'm just not used to a lot of posts from red-linked users without avatars. Avatars are nifty identifiers. You can even change them at will!

Fair enough. Welcome to the avatar club. You can now send your avatar to the arena in the Just for Fun sections of TV Tropes.

Been trying to figure for some time how to add avatars, the system is not all that intuitive as in some other places, at least i have my favorite avatar now.
And FF.net is down, really whats the problem with their servers? even a non server PC was more stable than this in the days i played Pokemon Online competitive.

Instead of Sasuke's teammates taking offense at Kakashi training him solo for the Chunin Exam final, he insists that they do it as a team. Whatever thrown Sasuke's way, Kiba and Sakura can handle.
Needless to say, Kakashi also recruits a few other ninja to help. Hilarity Ensues.
Neither goony beard-men nor rainbow-haired she-twinks will stand in the way of my dreams!
