I'm not too familiar with Fire Emblem so my gut instinct was that Byleth had the edge from Divine Pulse, but...
Huh.
What.
This Roy thing is news to me... what's the context? Was there anything making it an extraordinary circumstance or is Roy fully capable of doing this whenever he wants?

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaRoy didn't actually split a continent in half. The Binding Blade (Roy is still physically normal, its really the sword that has all the power) released a massive earthquake when Roy released the seals, if memory serves correctly. There's also the fact that the Binding Blade is superior to the legendary weapons, which changed the planet's weather. I'm fuzzy on specifics past that, though. Those are the two main things people use to claim Continential Roy, anyway.
I find that a more concrete example of firepower comes from the FE 6 manga adaptation, in which Aureola does this

I'm never going to have my Cole Mac Grath vs Alex Mercer Death Battle this year, but this video came pretty darn close:

Depends on the attack done. Is it a special dimension-cutting magical attack or is it supposed to be done through sheer, unadulterated (that part is important) power?
Also, by what math? I almost forgot to question that part.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.If I recall correctly, Rhea in her Immaculate One form got hit by some of the Javelins of Light in Verdant Wind Chapter 21 and survived, if only barely.
Byleth is able to take The Immaculate One down in the Crimson Flower/Silver Snow ending.

Its Both. Byleth fuses with the Goddess Sothis within themselves (A Progenitor god thats Fodlan's equvilent of Naga from Archanea/ Valentia), powers up, and then cuts out of a Void of darkness that would have suffocated them to death otherwise.
Well, going off of Fire Emblem Heroes, a crossover of all the games in the series with an Original Generation world and plot, Ike is actually the strongest hero (a term which in-game includes the heroes, villains, and sometimes unplayable NPCs of the series) of all FE worlds.note
Also Ike's a DLC recruitable character for Fire Emblem: Awakening and appears as an enemy on a DLC map, and the characters call him super strong and unparalleled/unmatched.
I like the Tellius series, I'm not super into Ike, but there it is. Guess (spoilers beyond this point if you care about the ending of Fire Emblem's Tellius duology) beating your universe's creator god (half of her, sure, with the bonus of a magical sword that's blessed by her other half) will do that for you.
Adventurers: homeless people who steal from tombs and kill things.Byleth on the other hand fused with the whole of their Progenitor. As weakened state in the guise of a small child compared to her adult self from a mural, but its implied that Byleth will eventually be as strong, or stronger, then the original Adult Sothis prior to her weakening.
They have that going for them, at least.
Note that lot of those Ike Character Shilling events where pre 3 houses content became a thing in the series.
Watch SymphogearThat is a fair point for sure, but even after Byleth's introduction in Heroes they weren't hyped to high heaven the way Ike was during his.
It's funny, because in Heroes the Ike that's hyped is still 17-year-old Ike, before he's had the experience of fighting the Mad King's War, the intermediary period between Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, as well as the conflicts in Radiant Dawn where he straight up kills god, which is where you'd think the whole "he's amazingly strong and unbeatable" would come in.
Byleth in that game is pretty clearly Part I Byleth before they start getting all their power-ups and things, but even Part I (so to speak) Ike is apparently uber strong and unbeatable.
Which makes no sense, actually now that I think about it, because he's definitely not portrayed that way in Path of Radiance.

Adventurers: homeless people who steal from tombs and kill things.They're probably trying to emphasize that he's supposed to be the FE equivalent of Guts.
Watch SymphogearI mean if we're going to go with Heroes Logic, due to insane amounts of Power Creep...
- Male Corrin going feral is the strongest of the list of these main characters. And even then, Chrom wielding a giant sack of presents has higher attack.
- Marth has overall better stats as a child compared to him at his actual Hero King status.
- Male Byleth is as strong as all the other Ikes, only having one less attack than Ike celebrating Valentine's Day.
- Tharja wearing a Christmas bikini gives her more defense.
- And Duma, the god of strength, is easily killed by Hinoka in a bath towel throwing water buckets.
I don't think a gacha game is a good indicator of substantial feats.

Is this another part of pony friendship? Telling each other what you learned all the time?
In gameplay, you're undoubtedly right. I was mostly referring to the story beats, where the Original Generation protagonists are in awe of Ike and basically outright say he's the strongest guy.
Whether or not Heroes is canon to the series mythology is another debate, but it is made by Intelligent Systems, the people who make the series, so I think the intent is that we're really supposed to believe that he's the strongest guy.
Adventurers: homeless people who steal from tombs and kill things.Fair enough. The stuff in Awakening seems to imply Ike is one of the strongest. I'm not sure if he's THE strongest though. Fire Emblem games don't exactly give us a lot to work with compared to other RP Gs.

Is this another part of pony friendship? Telling each other what you learned all the time?So I want to see Skullgirls make it to Death Battle someday. There are quite a lot of options.
Filia could fight Crona (demure, quiet young teens that were forcibly fused with loud, abrasive and immature parasitic companions in a grotesque fashion), Shantae (leading indie game heroines that fight with their hair), Tokoyami Fumikage (school students with a sentient partner by their side), Yoriko from Arcana Heart (Basically the same connections as with Crona, but minus the body horror) or Shinichi Izumi (Hosts to parasites).
Cerebella could fight Leone from Akame Ga Kill, Bullet from Blaz Blue or Yang (busty brawlers), Twintelle from ARMS (Armed headgear), Sheeva (basically Goro vs Machamp female edition) or Mika from Under Night in Birth (fist-based enhancements to boost their strength).
Peacock could fight B.B. Hood (young girls from fighting games with a vicious violent streak and a love of explosives) or Cuphead (indie game characters based off old time cartoons).
Parasoul could fight Neo from RWBY (cop vs robber style battle involving tricked out umbrellas).
Ms. Fortune could fight Neferpitou from Hunter x Hunter (thieving playful cat girls (Pitou is probably a girl right?)that have accelerated healing), Buggy the Clown (wanted felonies that fight by removing and controlling body parts) or Carol from Freedom Planet (spunky tomboyish cats from Indie games that once belonged to a band of thieves and ended up finding family elsewhere).
Painwheel could fight Decapre from Street Fighter (tortured experiments), or Hisako from Killer Instinct (vengeful monsters hellbent on destroying one of their games villains for hurting them somehow)
Valentine could fight Litchi Faye-Ling or Faust(fighting game doctors), Mercy from Overwatch (another game doctor), or the Medic from Team Fortress 2 (Doctors known best for their malpractice).
Double could fight Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist (shapeshifting inhuman monstrousities that despise humanity and work under a god complex master to destroy it).
Squigly could fight Hsien-Ko (undead girls that fight alongside a companion).
Big Band could fight Scratchman Apoo from One Piece (musical instrument bodies), Nonon Jakuzure (musical based fighting styles) or Eddie Riggs from Brutal Legend (same as the other two).
Eliza could fight Carmine or Skarlet (fighting game characters that utilize their blood), Anakaris from Darkstalkers (egyptian themed fighting game characters) or Carnage (psychotic murderers connected to an equally psychotic parasite).
Beowulf could fight Kanji Tatsumi (burly guys that utilize a folding chair in combat and have help from a loyal partner (Kanji's persona and Beowulf's arm of Grendel).
Robo Fortune could fight GIR from Invader Zim (goofy robots that rely heavily on random humour)
Fire Emblem's a bit starved for concrete feats, which unfortunately makes them unlikely for Death Battle, unless they feel like assuming they're just impressive normal humans. Even then, they can't factor things like Manaketes, magic, or divine weapons.
Roy didn't split a continent in half, Elibe is in one piece at the end of the game. The Binding Blade didn't do that in backstory either, since Elibe is in one piece at the beginning of the game, too.
In backstory, the legendary weapons of Elibe were so powerful, they changed the climate. But that claim is vague, and we never see them do that in-game.
He's not from any special lineage or anything (being the only Lord who's not Royalty), so that kinda makes him the weakest doesn't it?
No. In Tellius, nobility has no bearing on your strength. A few other FE-verses are like that too, where legendary weapons are the only thing making you superhuman.
Granted, in Jugdral and Fódlan, nobility/holy blood/crests do matter, but not for Ike.
It's a running theme that Ike is called "the strongest hero", but since that's praise and hearsay, there are a few factors that could explain it:
- He took down a God, even if that's a thing other characters in the series did as well (hi, Alm);
- Could be a popularity thing, since IS has a good idea of who's popular and who isn't;
- Him coming from nothing makes his endeavours more impressive;
- Maybe it's because he's buff and likes meat. Physically strong
;
- He does look like Guts;
- Among his enemies, he took at least two guys who blabber a lot about strength mattering (Black Knight and Ashnard). His Laguz allies (Lion-men, Hawk-men, and the like) are supposed to be champions of their countries too, and dialogue implies Ike's on their level;
- For that matter, his fights against the Black Knight are among the very few canonical 1-on-1 fights in the entire series. And Black Knight is superhuman.
But all of this ignores the fact that, BK fights aside, Ike did none of that on his own. He had armies, divine weapons, and a goddess helping him along the way. Which is how Fire Emblem functions in general.

Isn't Ike like the most normal of them?
He's not from any special lineage or anything (being the only Lord who's not Royalty), so that kinda makes him the weakest doesn't it?
