Zero died by falling from orbit on a crashing satellite
That’s something Shadow walked off and he’s not even the ultimate lifeform
Forever liveblogging the AvengersTo be fair, the cast ended up leaning towards X, didn’t it? Yeah, casts are informally researched so they’re not great indicators, but we don’t really know where they’re going to put them exactly until they actually do a researched episode. We’ve had plenty of matches where they ended up putting a character lower than where they may have been expected because they didn’t actually buy one argument or another.
Ladybug is a good matchup thematically, but some of the shit Ladybug does is wild. IIRC, she once threw something fast enough to break the sound barrier, and routinely knocks over the entire Eiffel Tower.
Plus if Ladybug gets access to the other Miraculous abilities it gets even crazier.
Danny Phantom is another great thematic match seeing as he's basically "what if Spider-Man, but ghost", but Danny has the same problem of having abilities that end up being completely hax if Death Battle takes them totally serious.

But Spidey has faced aliens, mutants, time traveling space tyrants, mad AI, and a whole lot more powerful loons in a span of decades. While Marinette, as powerful as they may seem, only face what can only be described as Power Ranger villain rejects
Plus, he has an ace in the hole.
His Spider Senses
And sure Ladybug has her Lucky Charm but can it work on non-acumatized opponents?
If we give Marinette all the miraculous that she's used or had access to then her aces are probably: time traveling, quick saving, and elemental manipulation. Spiderman theoretically can't win if Marinette traps the two of them in a time loop and she can keep trying to hit him with lightning until he goes down.
Although time traveling might just be the winning move. It's basically unrestricted time travel. Marinette could just go back to before Peter got his powers and defeat him then.

Personally, I want Spider-Man VS The Crawler.
I think it's a decently thematic matchup, and debatable one too, since both characters are roughly in the similar ballpark in terms of power (though, i imagine Peter has tons of outliers due to all of the comicbook material he had over the years).
Lucky Charm works for pretty much anything she chooses to use it on - she's used it on more than just akuma before. It's basically gives her something she can use to handle any situation, but it's usually abstract. It's probably not going to give her an "anti-Spider-Man Gun" or anything.
Offhand, the powers Ladybug would have access to:
- Nebulous superstrength, which is usually more standard but is sometimes depicted as extremely over the top.
- Swinging similar to web-swinging, using a yoyo of apparently infinite length.
- The ability to generate an item that will allow her overcome an obstacle or enemy, if she figures out how to use it correctly.
- The ability to undo all the damage (including lives lost, apparently) from a fight with an enemy, but only after the crisis is over (so not really going to come into place)
- Shield generation.
- Ability to create illusions. I don't remember if these illusions are only optical or if they also affect senses, but if the latter it's possible they could fool Spider-Sense.
- The ability to duplicate herself.
- Portal-based Teleportation
- The ability to make another's powers go haywire or cease to function properly temporarily, by touch.
- The ability to make something teleport to her location, if she's previously hit it with a specific projectile.
- A really, really, really big punch.
- Paralyzing projectiles
And then the biggest, most problematic ones:
- The ability to make herself completely invulnerable.
- The ability to create her "greatest wish," which can be changed moment to moment, including something specific she might need to defeat that Lucky Charm can't give her.
- Do-Over Based Time Travel (the ability to return to a certain moment like a save point)
- Actual Time Travel (the ability to go any-when she wants and potentially change history)
- The ability to obtain any additional superpower not among those mentioned that she needs to succeed.
She can wear multiple Miraclous at once if she wants to and often has access to all of them at once, so there's no reason Death Battle wouldn't give her all of them (though I'm exclusing Chat Noir's since that belongs to him and it'd be much more of a stretch for her to have access to it as a regular thing). Plus in the latest season she no longer has a time limit after using any of those powers, which was the biggest limiter to the use of those abilities.
Spidey's strong, but Ladybug is kinda hax.

Speaking of Hades,
I'm still fond of Pit vs Zagreus or Percy Jackson Vs Zagreus.
Both apparently work so well, storywise, I like Pit vs Zagreus more due to them dying is nothing new to them and would count as a win, so there is no need for them to have any guilt whatsoever, it could just be like Pit vs Sora all over again, where they both agreed to the fight.

Alright, we’ve got the 16 characters who will move to the next round of the “Island”, and they’ve been put in two teams
Team Boomstick: Hatsune Miku, Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Henry Stickman, Slenderman, Ash Williams, Pac-Man, Springtrap and Shantae.
Team Wiz: Meta Knight, Steve, Flowey, Kamen Rider Geats, Samus Aran, Sakuya Izayoi, John Constantine, and Frieren.
Additional, one combatant on each team was voted to have the “Golden Heart”, which apparently prevents them from being eliminated on the first elimination for each team. Those two were Springtrap and Geats.
Called Springtrap being the obligatory Karma Houdini arc villain for this setup.
Sharing a team with Miku and Henry, though... he's gonna want to keep those golden hearts as long as possible.

I mean, minor nitpick, but Touhou seems to read those particular kanji as "blood-sucking oni", not demon. That said, Remilia does identify herself as "the Scarlet Devil", and Touhou vampires do apparently have something to do with devils (which, to be fair, is western folklore too), so what do I know.
Here's a question for you guys.
What match up do you believe could have happened in season 1 or 2 that definitely can't happen now. Whether it be controversy, an immensely clear gap in stats, whatever, the likelihood of it happening now is zilch, but would have definitely fit the vibe from their earlier years.
For me, I definitely would have thought they'd do Little Mac VS Rocky. I just have the sense that they would have done it just because they were two iconic boxing figures and they would have had fun making it. Now, it's definitely never gonna happen, they'll likely go with Mac VS Ippo.
A match up from their earlier seasons that wouldn't happen now is Godzilla vs Gamera. Godzilla has starred in more movies since then and has become way more stronger. His first fight against Gamera was already one-sided, a rematch would be even more one-sided in Godzilla's favor.
"We do these things not because they are easy but because they are hard".I'd imagine a lot of matchups with video game characters would fit as answers, especially ones that aren't quite in the consciousness nowadays compared to back then.
I dunno how popular of an idea this is, but... like, I used to throw out The Kid VS Meat Boy a lot, as an example.
No way they'd ever do that now when a lot of modern viewers don't even know who the Kid is.

Even at the time I feel like you could've argued it was a fluke win, let alone nowadays where Metal's stats are a lot more juiced and Zero's (obviously) had jack shit in the interrim.
At least X would beat Primal if that episode ever happens, but... man, most of the MU spread for Mega Man hurts.
