So turns out the fight starts out with Wario-Man vs. Masked Dedede in Dedede's Caged Ring.

I proposed Nero earlier because they are both demon-killin action protags with artificial arms whose games came out around the same time but most people assume he'd stomp. (Not that I disagree.)

William "Anjin" Adams is probably his closest match. Thematically and powerwise it's a pretty exact match; neither can die for starters.

It be funny if they end the fight with a mutual kill but Sekiro wins just by virtue of being able to revive himself.

Maybe it is sort of a Fake Special Attack. Wario-man isn't really shown to be any stronger than Wario if you take account Wario Land (only Smash shows any real improvement, but only in speed) and Masked Dedede is just Dedede with a mask and a fancier hammer.

The Mortal Blade is a good start. That thing will just nullify any amount of healing or immortality.

It won't happen but the trailer for the new US Godzilla movie is out, and one of the lines was "this is the return of titans."

Which gave me this image of Godzilla fighting all of the Titans from Greek mythology.

Then I thought that was unfair and I figured "what would happen if all of the signature Godzilla monsters - Ghidorah, Mothra, Rodan, etc - fought all of the Greek Titans?"

Which seems like a curbstomp for Godzilla until I remembered that myth!Atlas is supposedly holding up the Earth.

Myth Atlas is holding the sky, not the Earth. Which DB would interpret as him holding the rest of the universe probably.

I’ve thought about Geralt of Rivia as an opponent for Sekiro.

Both share a wolf theme, carry two swords (in addition to other tools) for different kinds of enemies, and it’d be a battle between Western and Eastern styled warriors.

[up][up][up][up]This is pretty much a demo of his best tools and abilities.

Well Google is also saying he's charged with holding up the "heavens" which... is pretty open to interpretation.

Wasn't Atlas the only Titan that was explicitly gargantuan? AFAIK, the Titans weren't by definition huge (even if "titan" and "titanic" are today words that describe large sizes), they were just the previous generation of gods.

EDIT: Then again, an argument can be made that even Atlas wasn't as huge as most depictions of him, since the very human-sized Herakles/Hercules managed to do his job for a while. It's been a while since I've read those stories, though.

[up][up]It's not like the Greek myths are made to be examined in such a literal way. Zeus dropped a mountain on Typhon. Also the gods are shapeshifters and the Titans likely also are...

Plus there's the fact that you can't kill the Titans. They are immortal. Even Zeus and his crew couldn't do more than seal them in Tartarus. Prometheus spends eternity getting his guts eaten and he survives and keeps regenerating.

[up] (3) Couldn't do more, or Greek myth didn't require them to do more? The myth never involved a giant, radioactive monster raining atomic death on Prometheus to test his healing factor.

And that said - I thought Prometheus was cursed to be immortal, not that all of the Titans were, as punishment for stealing fire.

Yes, I care so little about a fat man fighting a penguin I want to nitpick Greek myth.

I hope they have.

The myth never involved a giant, radioactive monster raining atomic death on Prometheus to test his healing factor.

No, but one of the Titans is literally the concept of entropy. (We interpret Chronos as time, but his shtick is "Time ravages and consumes all", hence the eating his children thing. It's also where the idea of "Father Time holding a Scythe" comes from - time harvests all things).

And hey, you know what creates radioactivity? (atomic) Decay :-P

Myth Atlas is holding the sky, not the Earth. Which DB would interpret as him holding the rest of the universe probably.

Probably cause thats the only real way you could interpret that.

I don't know for sure if the myth of Atlas was made with a flat earth in mind (the greeks were a nautical people. Every single nautical society had to understand the basic curvature of the earth, or else they just flat out could not navigate), but the myth is pretty clear that whatever is not on earth is only not on earth cause Atlas is holding it up. Which you can only really interpret as holding up the universe to keep it from impacting with the earth.

The fact the greeks didn't understand how big the universe was doesn't really change things.

The myth never involved a giant, radioactive monster raining atomic death on Prometheus to test his healing factor.
The myth also says he stole the fire used to light the sun, which burns hotter than Godzillas breath and is more radioactive, so I think he'd be fine.
