No. Consensuses have been lost in the past. Seemingly insurmountable leads have been lost.
We are not going to start selectively taking options off the table while a crowner is open.
We are not looking for an "even spread of votes." We are looking for the option with the strongest support.

Mods should be given an option to temporarily lock individual options in a crowner once a consensus has been reached regarding that option.
This would prevent a ubiquitous problem with crowners: people only voting on options near the top of the crowner. By locking options with a high number of total votes, crowners could hopefully be forced to have a more even spread of votes. If a valid argument is put forward against the consensus, or if further votes are required to determine a winner, the option could be unlocked.
