"Your quarters are through he open side door, Mr. Stark. it would be appreciated if you did not address this unit as Nick."
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all? Those in vehicles would see only that the light was emanating from a small, gunmetal grey 10-meter cube, with seemingly no port for this strange beam to be projecting from.
Those on the ground, able to pilot a machine sufficiently close, or possessed of a zoom overlay as Leona had, may find that around the base of this structure was a series of screens, each displaying somethign different. Some had text too small for the vehicle operators to make out, but others had clear, flashing arrows pointed further in to the large circular area.
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?Tony goes into the room indicated. Well this is just great. A Beyonder wannabe decides to put us in one of the Secret Wars or something. Just like every Friday.

As the various machines moved another announcement sounded out across all comm frequencies, similar to the first one, and in the same pleasant, artificial female voice. "Quadrant IV has captured the Quadrant IV Communications Array."
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?A sensible person would have questioned the screens pointing. A sensible person may have also conversed with his fellows on how to handle the situation.
Will was not a sensible person.
"Today is a good day to die! CHARGE!" He screamed, sending the Metal Slug rocketing towards where the arrows pointed.

Belfangan saw that the console of the ITCC-5 Integrated Tactical Message Control System has displayed the phrase on the screen as the Falke ran where the arrows were leading him.
"This is not my day." Belfangan sighed. "After being in a strange world when I'm suppose to lead the SRT in an anti-terror mission..."
Spinoza turned his comm line to an open channel, "It seems we're invovled in a game or some sort, to what specific ends, I could not say. However, I would speculate that in the present encounter we are one of four teams. Though not necessarily. We may constitute all four teams or some combination there of, with only the one who arrived at the communications array constituting the fourth team. Considering our own diversity and disarray, it would be unsporting to give a lone team such a disadvantage and from that we can speculate the other teams are likely equally confused. The question then is who would organize such an event and why."

— The colossal Megadeus skidded to a rumbling stop ten meters from the structure. Roger opened the collar which held the cockpit, hooking up a wire line before he simply leaped out, only barely feeling the jerk as it slowed his descent to reasonable speed. Straightening his suit to an acceptable condition, he strode towards the screens.—
"He could not know it. For it was not all a joke.""Excellent deduction, First Lieutenant Priest. You however are wrong on several counts, and this facility is not allowed to instruct you on which." The artificial voice responded over now only one open channel. "Now that I have your attention and you have uncovered the nature of your current position, I believe-" there was much emphasis on that word considering the source- "I am allowed to give you the following information."
On all navigational displays a series of coordinates or navpoints appeared, corresponding to different locations, with 0,0 marking the center of a 100km circle. All points were within 50km of the center. No compass directions were given, but all maps were oriented with Y-positive as north.
"As you have already captured the first point your session has begun. You will need to capture the following facilities to ensure you do not start at a disadvantage. They will be identical in appearance to the one you previously arrived at."
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?"This facility is not allowed to disclose the goal of the operations. You are, however, all part of a single team, currently identified as Quadrant II, though this can be changed at Quadrant II Headquarters. Quadrant Fou-" the voice stopped speaking for several long moments. It had apparently changed subjects during this silence. "This facility does not have a mode of address, Roger Smith. You may however use its operational designation: Artificial Intelligence Voice-Address System, or AIVAS for short. If you find the method of speech needs to be changed at any time it will be no effort on my part to do so. This facility is currently utilizing the voice and appearance correlating to the previous AI unit that appears to have been stationed at this location."

Fox looked to the pillar of light, red optic glowing for a second as he observed it. It seemed to be the only distinct piece of land in the area. Judging it worth investigating, the cyborg ninja took of in that direction, moving through the field quickly. It has been a while since he was out in the open like this. He wished he could enjoy it.
