"So they finally got that bucket of bolts, eh?" commented Hunter, sighing. It was a bit of a shame, but Jedi always seemed to have the uncanny ability to be the real movers and shakers in any battle. "Good to hear, although I kind of hoped that I'd be able to get in a dogfight with him. I... still find it a bit difficult to swallow that the Republic became corrupt - it seems too strange to believe. As for your 'Alliance', well, I guess I'd be up for joining it - assuming, of course, that I live that long."

Galas's exposition was as enlightening as it was frightening - it was almost an alien concept that the Republic's fortunes could reverse so quickly, especially after the countless victories that the fleets and armies of the organisation had won in its' long struggle against the Confederacy. He would have to ask about this another time - perhaps after their next mission. For now, though, he was satisfied with just digesting what he had been told.

"I think that a wave of mass stupidity hit the senate; I've heard the late Bail Organa say that most of the senators voted for that proposal. It took about 19 years, but in the end the Emperor just disbanded the Senate. As simple as that," said Galas. "Anyway, if will survive this mess" -The Selkath indicated the hangar- "I'm sure you'll be welcome. The Alliance could always use another trained fighter pilot."

Leite was deep within the Big O's inner systems, studying the wiring, joints and power-sources. The mechanisms that the machine employed instead of Spiral Energy were very powerful and complex. It lacked something of the sleek simplicity of the Gunmen, but it was still a work of engineering art. She could not help but wonder how many mechanics the machine usually employed for its usual maintenance.

"Yep! Your mech is really something. How many does it usually take to keep this thing maintained?"

The F-302's tires hit the runway with a slight squeak as the rubber dragged for a few feet before the wheels started to roll and the fighter slowed down. It turned off the runway, and pulled up in the same spot on the flight line it had left from.

Jon slid the canopy forward, unhooked the oxygen mask from his helmet, and pulled the hose for his G-Suit from the receptacle on the panel by his leg before climbing out of the cockpit and down the ladder. Once on the ground again, he pulled off his helmet and gloves, and looked around for the elevator back to the ready room.

"Yup. That tasted purple."

Alex was in the same area as Leite, taking in all the wonderous works of engineering. She noted that most of it was incredibly complex, but nothing she hadn't at least learned about before, though not quite to this scale. She was particularly transfixed by the thing's massive engine; she had no clue what it was, but she was willing to bet that it was something she had never seen before; if it was a power source she was familiar with, then it was on a scale she had never encountered before, which may be an even greater cause for excitement, seeing as how she could understand it and learn about it easier. "Hey, what powers this things engine?" She called through her radio. Which made start to think about communication, as well as how stuffy her helmet was beginning to be. "Does this place have an internal intercom system?"

—Roger quirked an eyebrow before bringing the mike to his lips again.—

#" It's a variation of fission, my friend Norman told me. Norman is... was my long-time butler and chief mechanic. Most days, I'd only ever need his help. " #

— A press of a button, and two small, brass consoles lit up inside the Big O's systems, circular receiver grilles set into them. —

#" But on the worst days, he'd hire help from off the street. Pay a man well enough, and often enough, he won't tell the M Ps anything. " #

—Now that the Negotiator thought about it, he found himself already missing the confines of his manse, and the timely prepared meals at noon and at late day. —

#" Would you ladies be interested in working on the Big O from now on? " #

"He could not know it. For it was not all a joke."

"Okay, that doesn't surprise me," replied Hunter, smirking. "Anyway, I'll keep this 'Alliance' in mind if I make it through the Clone Wars. I wonder who brought us here...?"

"I see that you do not hold a very high opinion of politicians..." said Galas. "Anyway, I do not know who brought us here. I do know, however, that their AI representative is called AIVAS and takes the form of a blue-skinned near-human female... thought that might just be the holoprojector. What I do know is that I was brought here by a flash of light; I was in a space battle above Kuat - remind me to tell you about it sometime - when I destroyed an Eyeball and flew through the resulting explosion (the Limiting Factor's armour is strong enough) I ended up above the forest you saw."

Hunter shrugged in response to Galas's assessment of his views; he was undyingly loyal to the government of the Galactic Republic, but that didn't necessarily mean he had to like the decisions that were made by the politicians - sometimes, they stopped his brothers from getting the job done. But that was besides the point here. The mention of a battle over Kuat piqued his interest: so the Alliance had managed to penetrate as far as the potent shipyards of Kuat, where the warships vital to the Republic's (and presumably, the Empire's) war effort were built? Obviously they weren't some fringe group eking out a miserable living in the Outer Rim, then.

"I see. Me, I was transferring from the Open Circle Fleet to another fleet - just as I came out of hyperspace I was brought here, and... you don't need me to tell you what happened next," said Upsilon-631 sheepishly. R5 chirped once as well, apparently echoing the clone's sentiments.

"No hard feelings, Hunter," said Galas. "It is only natural; after all, I think that those Belbullabs were quite a pain in your side. After all, they must have been, else they wouldn't see any use after twenty-five or so years." He chuckled. "By-the-way, if we'll have any time for some practice here, I'd very much like to fly against you; I have seen those Jedi Starfighters, but never flew against one."

"That's been nagging at my head too." Belfangan said after hearing Hunter. "Right now, I'm suppose to be in an anti-terrorist operation out in the Spratly Islands near the Philippines. Boy do I have some questions for the entity who brought us here."

Alex grinned and took her helmet off, sighing in relief. Stuffy confines were stuffy. "I'd love to, thanks." She took a look over at her companion who was also studying the machine. "As much as I'd love to stay, though, it'd probably be more advisable to go and see this 'home' of ours, as it would be. Yah ready to depart, Leite?"

Ignoring the pilot's question, and entering the elevators, Noble Six stopped at the level the pair of mechanic were at. "Time to go." she said, short and to the point as usual. The Spartan still had not removed her helmet or armor, the suit being practically a second skin for her. For most, it would seem odd, but for her it was normal. The armor increased her speed, reaction time, and strength to the point of absurdity.

Anyone who had worn MJOLNIR armor (meaning the Spartan IIs and a small amount of Spartan IIIs) would never want to take it off either.

Leite almost accepted the job offer right off the bat, but then she hesitated. Her children were still waiting for her back home; her first priority had to be to find a way back to them.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Smith, but I think I have to decline. Y'see, I have to find out how to get home, and that pretty soon."

Alex understood Leite; she had to make a priority of returning too, though she considered it a primary mission to research all this technology to bring something back. "You know, you could always just work on it while you're here while not letting it get in the way." She shrugged then went and stood next to the elevator while waiting for her fellow engineer.

Sochie looked around the hanger at the different machines that seemed to be parked here. There were planes, tanks, and several machine dolls. The most impressive one of course was the giant Black Doll. It easily dwarfed anything shes ever seen. She also thought she saw a Borjarnon

in here, but she wasn't able to get a good look at it. Maybe one of the Suicide Squad was here?

While hs observations had proven quite informative thus far, providing Sutekh Re considerable food for thought, the Thousand Sons veteran sergeant realized that there was a problem, one whose solution was not readily apparent. That problem, of course, was thus: just where was he meant to stay between these missions? Did his captor intend for the dreadnought to simply amble about the narrow berth which the elevator had brought him to, unable to explore this strange complex and get a better idea of how he had been whisked away—and how, for that matter, he would return to the Legion.

Furthermore, did they intend for him to return to his slumber? He certainly had no intention of doing so, having been roused from the Long Rest only a short while ago, and even had he wished otherwise it was not within his power to enter that state of suspended animation; he had never been proficient in the biomanipulative arts of the Pavoni, lacking their instictive control over the many aspects of his flesh-and-blood remains, and without the assistance of the techmarines he could not shut down his systems—otherwise, the fitful dreams which often accompanied the Long Rest might cause him to endanger himself or do something rash.

"Hardly an ideal situation, is it?" the deathless war machine rumbled to himself, flexing the fingers of his power fist in sequence.

# "Well, we may be here awhile. It's your choice though, Miss Jokin." #

— For a moment, the Negotiator let himself wonder what could pull away someone so eager from their craft... Then he filed it away. Really none of his business, after all.

The Big O was at last lowered down to the debarkment point, and with the pull of a switch, the collar cockpit clattered up. Roger hopped out, then stood ready to escort his passengers to the command centre. For whatever reason, he had a vague foreboding about what he was going to hear once everyone returned. —

"I'll...think about it."

Leite entered the elevator together with Alex, looking pensive.

— The elevator automatically began its ascent once all three women had gotten on. Although their combined weight slowed it down very slightly, the journey only lasted a few seconds. Roger Smith waved to them from the walkway, and once they had disembarked from the Megadeus, started to lead the engineers and soldier off.—

"Welcome to the closest thing to home around here. Kinda dreary, but it'll have whatever you need with just a question."

—Once they'd gone a distance, though, the Negotiator spotted the impossibly fast (and loud) Dreadnought, seemingly at rest. —

Alex watched Leite clamber in, obviously deep in thought. She was beginning to form a mental picture of her; someone who loved tech as much as she did, but was quite eager to get back home, more than the others she had seen.

It occured to her that she should start taking notes. There were a few clicking noises as she put down into her Pip-boy observations she had made, and made a few folders, for the Big O and it's systems, one for it's pilot (seems friendly, but otherwise no information. Be cautious) and one for Leite.

As she was busy, she asked Leite without glancing up "Family back home?"

After a minute or two of working the servos and joints of his power fist's mechanical fingers, Sutekh Re's surveyors detected the presence of a small group—at least four individuals, though given how closely they were clustered there might have been more or less of them—on a nearby gantry. One of them appeared to have stopped for some reason, and based on its current position the venerable warrior could guess why.

Slowly, so as not to startle them, the Contemptor-pattern dreadnought rotated along its central axis until he was facing them; that area of the hangar echoed with the sounds of grinding joints and flexing electro-fibre muscles, and what light existed within the cavernous bay glinted faintly off the gilt trim and golden runes which had been inscribed into his chassis. His sensor dome swivelled slightly to fix its optic lenses on the well-dressed man—ill-suited garb for a princeps, the Thousand Son mused—and lowered his arms.

"Can I help you?" he rumbled, his bone-shudderingly deep words issuing forth from his external speakers.
