And what's the alternative? You still wouldn't be making your own choices because you'd be forced to avoid being caught.
You're a slave either way. So, option A) You run for your life, always looking over your shoulder and never truly free, or B)Give in and serve with Dr. Rosen, where you'll get a nice apartment and be able to live a relatively normal life.
Only the stubborn pick option A.
Because you would never be able to make the same choices other people do. You have to focus on not getting caught.
You aren't free to go to the movies with friends on a Friday night.
You aren't free to browse the internet.
You aren't free to find a nice high salary job.
You aren't free to own a nice house.
You aren't free to settle down with a family.
If you run, you're more a slave than you ever were before.
These people have major funds. And other Alphas. And soldiers.
Hiding behind a new identity won't save you. It's only a matter of time till they develop a way to find anyone.
Maybe someone will find out and sell you out. Maybe they'll track one of your phone calls. Maybe they'll find your IP address.
It doesn't matter, because they will find you. It's only a matter of time.
And as long as they're still looking for you, you're still running, looking over your shoulder for the man who's come to take you in.
There is no escape, even for an Alpha.
I liked this episode much better.
I'm going to revise my analysis of Super-Strength: his issue is less "control freak" and more "deeply insecure about his own authority" so he constantly tries to assert authority, regardless of whether or not he has it.

Fight smart, not fair.

Speak for yourself.
If you're held against your will, unable to make major decisions on your own, and are forced to work and follow orders from somebody; you're a slave.
What you described in the second paragraph is indentured servitude.
