Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Bill Maher is a narcissistic asshole. His take on things is basically 'anyone who does not agree with me is clearly an idiot'. He has his points but these points are neither thought-provoking or even contextually original. The subjects he tackles are low hanging fruit that he barely grazes.

It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesBasically act like they're talking to 50 different country leaders and ignore Trump.
And now the Germans fired back. :P

The description of "50 different countries" is a bit of an exageration, since it is not a diplomatic effort. It is more business oriented: the states will try to make sure to convince companies from outside that are looking to do anything in their state complies with enviromental factors. usually this assurance would come not just in the form of the fact the U.S was in the Paris Agreements, but others but basically the states and such will have to put a hand in showing other businesses (not countries) that their practices are enviromentally friendly.

The House will vote next week to roll back Dodd Frank.
Here we go...
Disgusted, but not surprised....Wait, what? How can you deny the existence of germs? I mean, climate change is one thing, but germs? All you have to do to prove the existence of germs is look through a microscope. He probably has done so in high school! How can you deny something that basic and still get airtime on anything other than the loonie channel?
