Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Well, given Conway's comment on top of Trump being himself and the large number of still with her tags with MS. Clinton's recent un-retirement, it could be another Strong Leadertm message combined with trolling.
Edit: And now I'm thinking of the clip beginning with Darkseid's speech to Metropolis after his first fight with Superman.

Look with century eyes... With our backs to the arch And the wreck of our kind We will stare straight ahead For the rest of our livesI knew where it comes from when I wrote that. I was making an important distinction between naming themselves after the Young Turks and naming themselves after a colloquialism that comes from the Young Turks. The former is disgusting, the latter just tone-deaf and dim. But YMMV. That's how I see it.

Look with century eyes... With our backs to the arch And the wreck of our kind We will stare straight ahead For the rest of our livesAfter criticizing the all-male group, CNN's Erin Burnett read a fuller version of the statement, where the aide detailed policy differences between the committee, saying “to reduce this to gender, race or geography misses the more important point of the diverse segments of the conference the group represents on policies.”
On that life expectancy by county map, a You Tube channel I'm subscribed to coincidentally uploaded this:
Your initial comment said they were named after a Turkish colloquialism then went on to talk about how then name has negative connotations in the West. I was pointing out that the name's connotations are exactly the same in Turkey, regardless of what Erdogan's government might try to claim.
In any case, let me put it this way—Cenk is of Turkish descent and denies the Armenian genocide. You really think he just named the group after the colloquialism?

Yes. Yes he does.
Disgusted, but not surprised
