Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Would AHCA count as genocide, since the the reason the House GOP passed it is because it would save them money due to premature deaths?
![]()
I will say it again—no. Do not dick around with the definition of genocide.
EDIT: Oh and going back to what Tobias said about how the new Republican bill making it harder for women to report rape is a feature, not a bug, the incels are thrilled

When I said ill-will, I was talking about how one feels about a group. I don't have to hate or dislike you to hurt you only be apathetic to your entire existence.
Which one could argue is even worse.
It's a meaningless distinction between a terrible person that does terrible things out of the terrible beliefs they have and a terrible person that does terrible things based on the the terrible beliefs of their constituents because they have no real beliefs and only want to keep themselves in power.
I layman's terms, true believers versus spineless opportunists.

@Mad
If you think the Tea Party boys were "spineless opportunists" you don't know the Tea Party boys very well. They're ideologues of the first degree, and they've turned most of the GOP to their line of thinking.
Seriously, why are you so determined to downplay the racism faced by Obama?
@Beary Scary
"Involuntary celibate". Probably the most insane of all the factions that orbit the alt-right, they're a group of deranged lunatics who cannot make up their mind if they a) want all women to be strongarmed into dating them or b) if they want all women killed for needing to be strongarmed in the first place. What they do know is they want one of those things awful badly. Here's one of them discussing why raising a daughter is asking to be cucked
.
Needless to say, they love Trump. Not because he'll make their lives better but because he'll hurt all the "Chads" and "Staceys" and "beta orbiters" and "normies" who they believe have ruined their lives. They're utterly insane—though given that their leading intellectual light, Internet troll Caamib (aka coconut aka That Incel Blogger and a few other aliases) once begged his mother to screw him and demanded sex from the judge in his sexual harassment trial, this is hardly surprising.
Regrettably, these people vote.
@Pushover Media Critic
The link is to FSTDT where quotes like that are collected and mocked. I didn't link to the actual incel website the quote is originally from; I wouldn't do that to the people in this thread. Though if you want to scar yourself forever, you can link to it from the FSTDT post.

I'm not. I'm arguing the basis behind the actions of the GOP's leader and who they really are . I don't think most of the GOP leaders hate/dislike Obama because he's black but because he's a Democratic President so anything will be used as ammo against him that plays well to their base just as they did with Hillary.
That's why I put extreme partisanship on equal footing with racism not below or above. They're inextricably linked.

caamib is completely and utterly out of his gourd. He at one point stalked and threatened to kill a teenage girl when he was in high school, and complained after getting caught that the only tragedy was he didn't get to murder her for inciting such attraction in him.
He's peas in a pod with fschmidt, who is a spiteful Social Darwinist and schemer who married a rich woman and is using her money to magnify his own wealth by suckering giving platforms to and opportunities to incels and other manosphere denizens.

When I hear the word "Chad", I instantly think of a high-school bully/Jerk Jock.

Congratulations. You don't associate with incels. You're not missing much. Like I said, of all the alt-right groups out there they're probably the most unhinged.
So do the incels. They live in a world where all women avoid "beta orbiters" and "sub 8 men" and instead have sex with alpha jock meatheads. Where every single girl likes the same kind of guy, and will spend her "most valuable years" "riding the cock carousel" of Chads, then finds a beta to settle on for those "beta bux" they'll need now that they're hideous hags of 30+.
They think that all the "normies" are engaged in a plot to try and conceal that the world really does work this way, and thus despise them intensely. Of course they also hate, in no particular order, MRAs, redpillers, PUAs, MGTOW, "modern Western society" and all women, so this is hardly surprising. Many of them are also staggeringly racist, fearing that the black version of Chad (whom they dub "Tyrone") is coming to "devalue" even more women. They're at war with most of the Internet, which is a good thing, because if they and the MRA, PUA, redpill, and MGTOW guys actually deemed up they'd control a depressing amount of the net.
To keep this on topic, most of the places they haunt were pretty pro-Trump and it was not because they thought they'd make the lives of incels better, or even because they liked him (if anything they tend to associate him with the Chad stereotype). They just figured he'd ruin everyone else's life and that was good enough.
@Nick the Swing
I know. He's come to FSTDT a few times to argue with the board. So has fschmidt. It's always somewhere between terrifying and sad.
