Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Was this already posted? A tv broadcast talking about "the Trump administration being under attack by liberals".

Graham and McCain issued a joint statement voicing their opposition to the ban. But let's see if he votes the way he talks.
We are turning into North Korea with frightening alacrity.

"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."Is that real? If yes, then the question is whether or not it is actually done by Trump or the GOP. My money is if it's real it's just a commercial slot that some overly enthusiastic Trump supporter with too much money decided to use. Even so, it's pretty worrying.
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonThis official sounding name is actually a front for Stop Hillary - a so-called Hybrid Political Action Committee (PAC).
If you ever needed any doubt that Jill Stein is opportunistic POS
Someone was asking about where protests were happening: here you go
. Late for some east coast people but not the west coast.
Did anyone expect anything else from a person who attends private dinners hosted by Vladimir Putin? Stein is still the same person who flopped on Brexit within hours after finding out most of her supporters favored the opposite of her initial position.

Hope Trump is happy about that.
'Course, that family can always come back in 89-ish days, and have an easier time getting in. Although, considering what the USA just did to them, I think they'd rather go to Canada.
Honestly, I don't think Trump has a mental disorder; despite obviously not knowing a thing he's doing, he seems too 'competent', at least in Public. And yes, he is a terrible public speaker, but you don't have to be good at speaking to be mentally stable.
I think he's either Stupid, Evil, or a Combo of the two.

This feels like one of the bad timelines in Steins;Gate. Someone got any handy microwaves and/or cell phones?
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonA different one article on that.
One of the nation's top psychologists says that Trump has Malignant Narcissism.
Many people with sociopathic disorders can appear competent in public.
In fact being a psychopath is a good trait for a CEO apparently.
1 in 5 CEOs are a psychopath according to an Australian study.
More from the rogue POTUS twitter:
POTUS sowing real discord by being more interested in NYT than the work of being POTUS. Bannon encouraging him to irritate #Unholy Trinity .
POTUS fully overwhelmed after full week on the job. Things spilling over into out of office lives for everyone.
POTUS fuming after judge order last night. Suggested having agents to "do it anyway" & ignore order. Preibus said to be at wits end.
COS Priebus said to be using appearance on MTP this morning to guide decision to stay or go. Positive panic by many at prospect of his resg.
SC fiasco an #Unholy Trinity plan gone wrong. Hope was restructure would minimize influence of POTUS ill advised foreign policy ideas.
POTUS instead removed the wrong people from NSC and inserted Bannon. Concern is that POTUS will take ready, fire, aim approach to for pol.
Priebus calling @Meet The Press interview "disaster." POTUS appears uncooperative on fixing EO problems, more worried about press coverage.
Unholy Trinity frustrated with POTUS idea to screen visitors for websites they frequent, notiing that malicious actors would just lie.
POTUS insists that if they don't confess sites, they'll be denied entry. Doesn't seem to recognize that there would be no way to know.
Concern is that attempting a measure that is almost impos. to enforce will deepen public anger. POTUS believes people will "love it."
Attempts to get POTUS to work on policy failed. Retreats to residence, skulking over Mc Cain/Lindsey announcement and public protests.

From what I've seen, Ben Sasse (Nebraska), John Mc Cain (Arizona) and Jeff Flakes (Arizona) are the only Republican Senators that actively oppose the Muslim Ban. Graham has been silent on the matter.
