Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Chris Hayes is an MSNBC host for the Prime-Time show "All-In with Chris Hayes."

here's the video
Congressman is Blake Farenthold
New Survey coming this weekend!Wow, that's just repulsive to even watch.
Pence lukewarmly chided a woman at a rally today. After she called for a revolution in case of a Clinton victory, because the "crooked" Democratic party cheating is the only way that could happen.

O_O
I think I'd like to get the full context of that interview, though - I don't doubt he said that, obviously, but I'd like to know all the details just the same.
He's still pushing for the poll watcher BS, though.

Oh God! Natural light!Based on public statements, it's possible Assange actually believes Trump is less dangerous than Clinton and that Wikileaks would be doing what it is even without Russia helping.
The possability of him actively working with Russia is there but harder to prove.
Basically he takes the far-left "Clinton is a war hawk" view (with the Lybia intervention to take out Gadaffi, not her Iraq record, as the main one) and all the anti-imperialist America stuff that goes with it.

That scumbag's made another ad attacking Clinton's health.
I find those complaints hilarious coming from him. After all, does he really think HE looks hale and healthy? Being orange all over with hair that has baffled people for decades is not what people think "strong" looks like.
@Karkat, I believe he encouraged her to register as a poll watcher, which is a legal and longstanding practice. Each campaign gets one or two volunteers at each polling station I believe.
Don't forget the obesity and high cholesterol that requires medication to control.

You sure? Because Trump's been talking a lot about how his supporters have to watch the polls to make sure "certain people" don't do anything.
I mean, I suppose I could be mistaken, but still...

Oh God! Natural light!Ah, okay.
Just to be clear, what's the difference between what Trump is talking about and what Pence is talking about (mechanically speaking, I suppose)?
Oh God! Natural light!
The difference between a security guard watching a camera and a club bouncer is my understanding.
One is an extra set of eyes making sure no funny business is going on. The other is there to look intimidating to keep people who might start funny business from trying in the first place.

The latter has an addeum or two of course; namely that said bouncer isn't supposed to be there and has been fed a steady diet of Info Wars conspiracies.

And this being Trump, the second type of funny business is "vote for someone who's not the glorious god-emperor Donald J Trump" or "vote while not white".

1 2 We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be. -KVTrump's "poll watchers" will be there to make sure no funny looking blacks or Hispanics vote twice... or at all, if they can be intimidating enough.

Why wouldn't she be?
Aside for not being a Republican, of course.

Oh God! Natural light!Warren would have been an extraordinarily popular choice for President, but she chose not to run, and we have to respect that, no matter our feelings about Clinton. It's her choice. Not everybody wants the pressure, and some feel they are doing just as important a job where they are. Warren, for example, would have vacated a powerful seat and possibly risked a potential Democratic majority in the Senate.

Which congressman?
