There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations

Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.

In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Something that the news should really put more focus on, though, is Trump's proven history fucking over
various subcontractors
that his company hired. The latter link is the Wall Street Journal for a reason.
“If they do a good job, I won’t cut them at all,” Mr. Trump said of businesses he contracts with, saying “it’s probably 1,000 to one where I pay.” He said he occasionally won’t pay fully when work is simply satisfactory or “an OK to bad job…If it’s OK, then I’ll sometimes cut them.” In dealing with public projects such as bridge-building, he said, “that should be the attitude of the country.”
“I pay thousands of bills on time,” he said, adding that suggesting otherwise is “disgusting.”
“In our business it’s very difficult to operate that way. You’re dealing with people on an ongoing basis. Every time you order with them you can’t screw them because they won’t be your suppliers anymore,” Mr. O’Donnell said. Executives at the casino paid vendors fully despite Mr. Trump’s directives, he said, and “it used to infuriate him.”
And I got put onto this by the latest allegation (though it has zero vetting at this point) that he'd told the caterer of his 1993 wedding that he wouldn't be paying for anything because
"I know you are new at this, and when you tell people you catered MY wedding, you will get more business than you could ever dream of. So I am doing you a favor. And when I do favors, I don’t pay. End of discussion.” True or not, it sure as hell sounds like something that Trump would pull on someone at the last minute, especially given the previous, confirmed allegations.

"Why would I inflict myself on somebody else?"That's a pretty good sign of Trump's ego, that he thinks his name is so big that anyone who ever works for him will make so much money - from future jobs gained as a result - that they can just write off that one gig as a loss leader.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)In that vein, in the late 80s Trump ordered a run of 50 "Trump" limos before only paying for one
, screwing Cadillac out of development costs for a custom vehicle.

Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages? In light of the Machado comments, I was reminded of this tweet/art I saw (I can try to google if anyone is interested). So, basically it was an illustration of a bunch of comic book supervillains that were framed as Donald Trump supporters and a lot of the comments where how this was unfair to those villains, as they'd probably be opposed to Trump. Like one comment was to the effect that at least the modern take on Loki is genderqueer and thus would not like Republican social positions.
And like similar to their objections in the comics to the Red Skull, people like Doctor Doom and Magneto would object to Trump as a Politically Incorrect Villain on the basis of their Noble Demon/ Equal-Opportunity Evil tendencies.
But Doom came to mind for me today again because he's sometimes written as being a Politically Incorrect Villain. Like in what I assume was the Reginald Hudlin run of Black Panther, he makes some Jimmy the Greek style comments on African athletic ability. And more to the point, in some infamous comic (not sure who wrote it) he calls Carol Danvers fat and tells her to "shut her cow mouth". And I could definitely see Trump saying that.

Nothing modern about it. Who here remembers that time Loki turned into a woman and gave birth to a horse? Raise your hand!
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Doom would blame any loss or bad publicity on a Doombot malfunctioning... That being said, I am pretty sure Dr. Doom would be supportive of Trump since if Trump destroys America, that is good for Latveria's interests and keeps RICHARDS!!! busy on cleanup.
As for Red Skull, he's all-in on the Alt-Right.

Wizard Needs Food BadlyGranted, the Democrats, sans Reid, are no better for voting for it as well. But at least they're not blaming the guy who vetoed it.

That's basically the long and short of his appearance in Nick Spencer's current Captain America run.
I'd also say that Norman Osborn (who I think was included in the picture) seems like he'd been a fan. Thinking of the arc where he had good publicity and got a government position.
It's kind of funny (and I guess telling about comics) that most of the villains features- Lex Luthor, Loki, Doctor Doom, Magneto- are currently good guys. I think Luthor is now, right? Don't read D.C. Think Sinestro was also pictured. Is he also a good guy now?

There might have been a few pages of that posted several months ago, with a pretty chilling comparison to what Trump was doing and saying at present.
It was very unsettling because Skull is actually much more eloquent and insidious than Trump.
Isn't this the writer who created a shitstorm by making it look like Cap had been an undercover Hydra agent all along, swore up and down it wasn't a fake out, and then the very next issue it turned into a fake-out?
Anyone not unshakable in their devotion to the series pretty much went "fuck this noise" at that point.
Pretty much the only person who is always 100% evil is red skull. Even the freaking joker hates that guy.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? He had to save the world after it was taken over by the Justice League's evil universe counterparts, and in the process began to bond with Bizarro, who he kind of saw as a son. Bizarro died, Lex helped save the world, and he decided to become a hero afterwards, while growing a new Bizarro in secret.
Then New 52 Superman (who apparently isn't really the original Superman?) died fighting Darkseid, and Lex started wearing his symbol to honor him and his ideals, as they had become friends by that point.
Either way, even most supervillains would hate Trump. A lot of them are liberal, if evil.

That's...not what happened. New 52 Superman died fighting some random guy with Kryptonian powers because he went into critical mass from using his Super Flare to beat him, leading to him exploding into a pile of ash. The Fortress of Solitude also lacks a regeneration matrix like the Post-Crisis version, so he's dead for good, but it's okay, because we have Post-Crisis Superman again because he, Lois, and their son got thrown into the Post-Flashpoint world. Luthor did try to become Superman after he died to honor him, but that kind of ended after the other Superman came back to Metropolis, and I have no idea what happened with Luthor after that.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!So....remember how Trump slut shamed Miss Universe for allegedly appearing in a sex tape?
He appeared in a Playboy software movie in 2000
New Survey coming this weekend! He also fat-shamed her for being ~160 lbs despite being ~240 himself. Trump has never claimed to not be a hypocrite.

That 130 year old newspaper got hit with death threats to its staff because it supported Clinton.
