Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Late, but nice to see you again Aprilla. Liked seeing your thoughts on stuff.
Both candidates should have their feet held to the fire, but I don't think it's ridiculous to suggest that their is bias against Hillary in the case of Fox and against Trump when it comes to CNN and the rest. CNN especially. Just recently they edited out Hillary mentioning a bombing in New York preemptively and then had the audacity to condemn Trump for jumping the gun and praise Hillary. There isn't much they can do about it. I heard that Hillary's strategy was to let Trump talk and reveal how ridiculous he is. I really think she should agressively hammer away at his negatives.

I was talking about policy, but she could also bring up his racism, sexism and xenophobia.Trumps been a lot softer since he imploded during and in the aftermath of the DNC. He's been making headway with minorities and is going to win a lot of the white vote. There's a chance he can beat her. Se needs to do what Obama did to Romney in 2012. Hammer away at his negatives. Make people know that she's the only choice.
One of his more ridiculous suggestions was that the US steal Iraqs oil even though he wants to pull out.

According to who's narrative? They blurred the Trump logo on a hero cops shirt. They've run chyrons fact checking Trump (and they should), but they don't do the same for Hillary. Before Hillary's collapse they hammered away at Trumps health while downplaying right wingers that questioned Hillary's.

Y'know, with all this flak about the Confederate flag, somebody ought to make an opposite of the General Lee car, just for the helluvit.
Instead of orange, paint it blue. Instead of a Confederate flag on the roof, put Old Glory (aka, the Stars and Stripes) up there. Instead of "01" make its number "10." Name it the "General Grant" or the "Honest Abe," and have the horn play the first bar of the Battle Hymn of the Republic, instead of "Dixie."
Whaddaya think? Should it be a Dodge Challenger instead of a Charger? Or should we go whole hog and build it on a GM or Ford platform instead, just to give the metaphorical finger?
This Space Intentionally Left Blank. It may surprise you to learn this but Trump lies more than Clinton does. Frankly, they haven't fact checked him near enough.
Rightfully so. The conspiracy nuts have repeatedly tried to claim she's dying, while conversely, Trump hasn't released his medical records and had his doctor publish fraudulent ones.
You seem to be falling prey to the Golden Mean Fallacy, assuming that the candidates are equally bad and that if the press doesn't bash them both equally they are biased. Trump is the worse candidate, hands down. That's why he gets the flak that he does. That he doesn't get more flak is arguably evidence of bias in the opposite direction.
If the "hero cop" was wearing a swastika or a Confederate flag would you be as against them blurring it out?

Aprilla! *waves* How's hell Arkansas hell?
x6 A cop that saved a baby from overheating in a locked car.
x3 That's the conspiracy and it's easily debunked. He was a retired cop. Now, if the cop had been wearing a Hillary shirt... would they have blurred it? Inconceivable.
x2 1) I'm not quite sure how you came to the conclusion that Trump is a bigger liar. They both lie all the time.
2) That's irrelevant. Hillary's the one who looks sick. If Trump was tired, having coughing fits, stumbling, had problems with his memory etc. it would be a bigger issue.
3) Worse in what way?
4) Godwins Law. Not all Trump supporters are sexist, racist, islamaphobix, xenephobic, homophobes.
And the Cubans wanted a better relationship with the USSR. How did the US react.

x2 Whether you care or not is completely irrelevant. Personally, I thought it was funny. The point is that there is a media bias against Trump from many outlets, but CNN in particular. That's not debatable. Hell, in the primaries they admitted it.

Well, how do you measure a lie and how do you know he's just not wrong? They're both prolific liars.

Sounds like a Z list chicken related batman villain.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?
