Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

@Adric: common misconception but a vomitorium isn't what you think it is.

Does anyone remember that time when Trump tried to pass himself off as 'not racist' by posting a Facebook photo of himself eating a taco salad?

I this point is not surprsing, as I talk to my mexican friend, mexican politician seen to be:spineless against everyone, quesiling, cartonlish evil.
" if there are taco trucks on every street corner, then there will be a readily available alternative to Taco Bell."
Which is part of the evil strategy of Trump: first he made the wall, them deport mexican so he can launch Taco trump, and without any alternative, everyone would be force to eat it.
and evil plan indeed

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Anyway, since no one answered me the first time, I'll ask again - who's Pam Bondi?
Oh God! Natural light!Yeah, he said something like: "Trump Tower's taco salads are the best! I love Hispanics!"

She is an attorney general who gets bribed around $25.000 by Trump to not sue him over the issue of the Trump University. Google her and Trump University for more wall textish explanation.

Only an experienced editor who has a name possesses the ability to truly understand my work - What 90% of writers I'm in charge of said.Has anyone analyzed Trump's speech pattern? It's simple but impactful. It uses small words unless the situation otherwise dictates. It repeats phrases, and it uses Word Cruft to indicate importance.
It's very weird. VERY WEIRD. You'd better believe me.

This is a signature.I found the menu for the Trump Tower Grill. The taco bowl is on there (I had been told that it wasn't), but so is something called "Ivanka's Salad" which is clearly just a Greek salad. Also something called "Trump's Homemade Ice Cream" which is just...no thank you.

On the taco truck thing: I don't normally like "Morning Joe". But the reaction from both Mika and guest Michael Steele to the taco truck thing, near the twelve minute mark of this vid
is great.
Actually, as the election goes on I'm liking her more and more. She's spent the last couple days more or less saying of Trump that "there's nothing to analyze here. This is not a campaign," and ripping on the rest of the panel for wasting everyone's time trying to read any sort of meaning beyond racist stupidity into anything he does.

So I used that list from earlier on my Trump supporting dad, and he defended almost every statement there. Even the one about beating up protesters. And when presented with something even he thought sounded a bit dumb, he just said it was either "taken out of context" or that "Trump needed to think a bit more, but [he likes] him for being such a free speaker."
Is it just me, or has this defense been used more and more lately by Trump and the Trumpublican Party?
Apologies for changing the subject, if I stepped out of line there.
