Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Speculation about what wikileaks is going to release and (over)analysis of hints being dropped by reps about the content of said leaks.
As far as my state goes, there was a major discrepancy between exit polls and the actual result (which a statistics PHD student wrote a paper on, suggesting that, at the very least, states in which there existed greater potential for election fraud favored Clinton more than those with greater oversight), and a minor scandal where over 100,000 voters were abruptly dropped.
Plus there was a discrepancy in exit polls in several states well beyond the margin of error. Honestly, I still expect that, much like the collusion with the media had the DNC remained impartial, their candidate still would've won.

Jill Stein: Notice me, Bernie-sempai!
She's reiterating her suggestion that Bernie should be the Green Party candidate.

Any group who acts like morons ironically will eventually find itself swamped by morons who think themselves to be in good company.Wikileaks has confirmed that they deliberately left those Social Security numbers in
. My respect for them has completely evaporated.
EDIT: Seems like it's the Russian government who may have handed them the documents
.

I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiot![]()

I'd bet money on it.
But even in the absence of all this worse-than-usual corruption and fraud, could Bernie have won? He lost by a wide margin, which became apparent way back on Super Tuesday. I don't know if that can all be attributed to malfeasance in the United States of Never-Say-Socialism.

How dare you disrupt the sanctity of my soliloquy?I can't find any actual statement from Sanders and Clinton themselves, but....
DNC chair Debbie Schultz won't speak at Dem convention following Wikileaks fallout.
Definitely for the best. Even without emails, Schultz's appearance would have been meet with more jeers than cheers.
Bernie Sanders campaign chief says someone must be 'accountable' for what DNC emails show.
About the Republican party being taken over by bigots and extremists
It scares me, but if it kills the party's chances and results in a massive blue sweep, then that could be a great thing for years to come.

It's remarkably petty, as far as scandals go. That's not a skeleton, that's barely a stapes !
