Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Hopefully their funding disparity plays out to her great advantage in the general, but I'm skeptical. Last year, Trump turning out to be a viable candidate in his primary let alone its winner sounded crazy to me. So now, it seems like he's about to hit a couple of walls: his alleged personal wealth and unwillingness to use it plus his apparent utter alienation of everyone but a deeply reactionary base.
"I have no fear, for fear is the little death that kills me over and over. Without fear, I die but once."Maybe Trump's kids don't want to see their inheritance pissed away for a lost cause?
But Trump is nuts if he thinks he can win the White House on a $500 million budget. Obama and Romney both went over 1 billion and Clinton is aiming to go even higher than that.
And even if his budget problems get fixed, his organization is nothing short of a circus. Winning the presidency involves a lot of logistics.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. They can delude themselves, yes. See "epistemic closure
".
really? that is surprising for me actually
Anywhere it start to worry about this reacionaries trty to interrupt his rally, it given him the imagie of "poor marty silence by the radical left" which could help him a lot

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Awww, I missed the fun foreign policy fun a few pages back. Pity.
As for how I'd want Trump to go: Become a complete bum, having spent all his money on the election Brewsters Millions style...except not spending enough to get the grand prize.
How is Donald Trump going to quit?
I could totally see Trump pulling a "Trump TV" announcement at the convention.

Or she could use that extra money to a) fund congress and state level efforts (A Hillary presidency is better when paired with a Democratic Congress than a Republican one) and/or b) to improve her image among the general public.
