Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

"They were accused of it and haven't denied it, there must be something to the accusations!" is patently ridiculous.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.![]()
And again, so what? You are presenting this information as if there is an obvious conclusion that supports your core argument that the Clintons are corrupt tools of Wall Street and/or closet fascists.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"You really can't see the difference between those types of accusations?
No one is accusing Clinton of being a lizard-person. The entire GOP establishment and plenty of Republican voters are and continue to accuse Trump of being a Clinton plant. Seems like something that would be relevant to make a comment on?
Absence of evidence mistaken for evidence of absence.
Next thing you're gonna tell me that Shakespeare is a fake who stole other peoples' works because he didn't have a bachelor's degree.
Two people having a conversation on the phone randomly pieced together from four witnesses involved in the conversation is, what. Proof that two people had a telephone conversation about politics?
This is fucking weak tea.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Bill Clinton and Donald Trump having a conversation about politics is proof that Clinton and Trump had a conversation about politics. That's it.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"You have created a narrative and are searching for every possible form of evidence to support that narrative, regardless of whether said evidence is plausible or relevant. In that regard, you are no better than a Trump supporter.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"You mean the piece of crap phones that flat out don't work at the best of times? The ones that would just eat messages or send them to random people on the contact list? The ones where the batteries would fail at random? Oh yeah, how dare someone use a phone that, you know, works.

To recap:
Willy told Trump to run on the GOP side and act like a boarder line fascist on the off chance that a good number of Republicans would actually eat that shit up? So that he could help his wife, who he has been unfaithful to, while hoping that the Jewish guy wouldn't beat her in the Democratic nomination?

The article is very clear: Clinton and Trump discussed politics and the 2016 race. This is confirmed.
