Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

You're basing that wild assumption on what? Your own person hatred for Clinton? She probably said the exact same thing every other politican who does such speeches said, some pointless pandering drivel.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranMoreover, politicians and other public figures are paid to give speeches. That is the majority of their job. Getting on their case over it is a serious example of missing the point.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Candidate favorability ratings typically decline over the course of an election. There's no precedent for a large enough spike in favorability to reclaim any of the key voting blocs she's currently unpopular with.
Does anyone here expect Clinton to suddenly become popular enough to win a landslide victory? Are we just banking on the Republican nominee (Trump? Cruz?) being slightly less likeable?

Not excusing that, but her doing that doesn't mean the contents are the same as the stuff Romney said.
What key voting blocks is she unpopular with? And yeah I trust the American people to favour Clinton over Facism, non-governance or Theocracy.

I belive that poll data this far out isn't very ineffective at predicting things, so unless that's a trend that shows across multiple polls and poll averages I'm not concerned, this far out one poll means nothing and averages are all we should be looking at.
Why won't he release his birth certificate? Why, why, why?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Yeah, it's the cumulative effect of all the tarring and feathering at the hands of the media. It's the main reason I'm concerned about her electability.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Nation of Islam Promises To Provide Security For Beyonce Concert, Since Police Refuse
. Several police unions announced a boycott of an upcoming Beyonce concert. The police reasoned that without officers there for security, Beyonce would be forced to admit that police brutality is a small price to pay to have “law and order.”
HAHAHA! Now she'll be protected by Brother Mouzoune.
Let's see who dares mess with Beyonce now!

Her favorability ratings are low because people keep getting on her case over things that would be passé in any other candidate. It's a feedback loop, based on a variation of the many-questions fallacy: "How long have you been a corrupt Wall Street tool?"
