Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

I think the consensus is that the Republicans are such a mess that it'd take more than not having debates to sink the Democrats this time around.
That said, I think we'll get a better idea of who'll win once the candidates are made official and we get into the actual election season. Aren't the amount of debates the official candidates determined by law or something?
Holy Shit O Malley is on fire. I know it's empty words, but NEVER SURRENDER.
Sanders is praising King Abdul the Second of Jordan. His praise of the man is correct, unfortunately their is no Kind Abdul the Second of Jordan. His name is Abdualh.

I Bring Doom, and a bit of gloom, but mostly gloom.
I know.
Edit: "If we did not intervene in Libya we would have Syria." I swear I have heard it before, but it is true and brilliant.
Edit 2: Clinton is on fire with this foreign policy. I thin I'm in love.
Sanders has passion, even if I find him naive and disagree with him. Martin O Malley is just acting like an idiot mouthing of gibberish about funding "more human intelligence.", and not thinking in a "cold war mindset" or something like that. What the fuck do you think we did in the Cold War. The whole conflict was a war of spies and diplomatic maneuvering.

Pretty much.
Though I do kinda admire how they became titans of industry and incredibly wealthy to boot.
Especially Carnagie, who went from poor immigrant to wealthy businessman(who was also oddly enough anti-imperialist even offering the Philippines 20million dollars to buy their independence, apparently had a fascination with dinosaurs funding digs, helped found the National Negro Business League, and was a big backer of the Tuskegee Institute under Booker T.)

Look upon my privilege ye mighty and despair.

But the (presumably rhetorical) question wasn't about running for president in person, it was about running (managing) a campaign.
