Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

I am a Redskins fan. I can bear the disillusionment of Cowboys fans with great equanimity. Oh, and Greg Abbott is an ass.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The area is pretty diversified, separated, and has resources nearby that too many people seem to want to take advantage of for peace to be long lasting unless it manages to be centralized for a long enough time...
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesif there's a thing that destroys an army's morale is war that never seems to come to an end. I don't say this is the end of USA's supremacy, but their pride will go away the more this war on terror is prolonged.

You claim that God is opressing us, but I see you opressing others without needing a God.I get a lot of enjoyment out of Extra History - their series about the South Sea Bubble
had some eerie parallels to our modern-day economy... sadly. Thankfully, I don't think we're quite that bad at this point.

"Why would I inflict myself on somebody else?"Florida is allowing a Supervillain to run for public office.
Wasn't this the plot of Vandal Savage's introductory story?

Hey man, nuts should be allowed to run for office, it's a good way to prove to them that they have no public support.
Also he's so bad that the Libertarian party are trying to distance themselves from him, that's how the goat thing came out.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranWho the heck would vote for a guy named Augustus Sol Invictus?
His name is so insanely evil that I would be more surprised if he was a mundane man after all.

Actually, the name don't sounds so bad. Sol Invictus was a roman god, and you must know Augustus, and I don't remeber anything about Augustus being specially nasty between the roman politicians, aside of declaring himself the first Emperor.
But drink a goat's blood? How ridiculous. Pig's blood is much better.

You claim that God is opressing us, but I see you opressing others without needing a God.

That literally made me crack up.
