Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Jesus Christ, even Fox is getting tired of Trump's supporters
.
So apparently (unconfirmed news here), there's a group called "Women for Trump." They might as well call themselves "Women for Misogyny", because if you hate yourself that much...
But of course, Trump is just gonna smile and use this as proof that most Americans love him (if it's true).
"Somehow the hated have to walk a tightrope, while those who hate do not."![]()
While that Fox article couldn't help but take potshots at liberal media, I have to say that I agree with its core points.
Re: the Fox debate - What's wrong with the questions they asked? Isn't the point of the debates to ask candidates hard questions and make them answer? Whether or not I like the candidates, or the moderators, I can hardly fault them for asking tough questions.

That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - SilaswLets just get rid of debates all together and have a good round of Battle Royale.
I hope they aren't Clinton supporters concern trolling Sanders' campaign. That would be disgusting.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"A tough weekend for the Black lives mater movement
The only way this weekend could get any worse for them if it was revealed that they were all white....I will show myself out.

I Bring Doom, and a bit of gloom, but mostly gloom."Revealed", not "reviled". And yes, that is a bad day. Their attack on Sanders' rally was unconscionable given that he might well be their only viable ally.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
Sorry. I wouldn't call it unconscionable, that's reserved for things like murder or scientifically experimenting on human beings. I'd call it dam stupid, and seeing as the has tag for this even was apparently Bow Down Bernie, it looks like this particular faction has gone mad with, perceived, power.
Okay, not unconscionable, but deeply stupid. The country will not get behind that movement if they want an absolute solution to racial power inequity and will accept nothing less, NOW. I know it sounds terrible, and yes, I agree with their purpose, but to sabotage the campaign of the candidate most likely to support them? Come on!

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
It might be so, indirectly.
"Bow Down Bernie"?
You know what, I'm going to stop discussing this topic until apologists stop attempting to justify everything everyone claiming to fight under their banner does.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Essentially it's a variation on A Million Is a Statistic. One racist jackass Republican is newsworthy; hundreds of them is just "Bear shits in woods".
Combine that with a few statements like "it's always been that way" and appeals to voter apathy like "Even if you speak out, no one will listen to you" and you guarantee no progress.
Voter apathy is naturally going to hit the left harder because they're the ones who actually want to do anything. The right, often, are quite happy to fiddle while Rome burns and black kids get massacred.
