Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

So far we have a confirmed 3 explosion with the third one being the one at the JFK Library. The reports of controlled explosion is apparently simply the explosives teams treating anything that was dropped by people fleeing as a possible bomb.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranI checked a list of entrants into the marathon and I don't see my Assistant Scoutmaster's name on the list. That's good news for me I guess but it doesn't help the other people...

The second link isn't working.
As for the first we've been told not to discuss conspiracies until we have more info.

Woah. These runners are brave.
On another note, it isn't surprising that there's already a suspect (people act quick after these kinds of disasters), but I'm not speculating who might've done it yet. We need some time.

The New York Post is not exactly what I consider high quality reporting. Let's let official sources confirm.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Injured toll is now over 100, according to Boston Globe Twitter.
True that the hearts of most people are with the (direct) victims (and families), as they should be.
My heart goes out to those last-minute tax filers starting to gather in front of Post Offices across the country. What's going through their minds right now? Especially those in Rhode Island and New Hampshire, who don't have the holiday extension?
They usually give you a sit-down period first, as well as some incredibly sugary drinkss. Or at least, that's what the NHS does. I assume it's the same in America. Still, there should be plenty of non-runners volunteering.
EDIT: Boston PD says no arrests have been made.
and that the JFK Library incident was "fire-related"
. No idea what "fire-related" means.

Schild und Schwert der ParteiI closed it as link/discuss. If someone wants to repost it with a better OP, go ahead.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"So it's not that Saudi National? Okay. I figured it would be a good idea to wait for another source to confirm the New York Post's story.
edit: I have a hard time believing this is a coincidence. The library could be a case of arson committed by the same people.

Boston Police say no arrests have been made;
I guess the Post is full of it.

Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.
Nothing's funny about two people dying and dozens more being maimed.
EDIT: And I've just seen a couple of disgusting comments online saying this is karma for some Bostonians' financial support for the PIRA during The Troubles. This doesn't reflect majority opinion in Britain, at all. Cock-ends.

Schild und Schwert der Partei

North Korea would have bragged about this by now.
