Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

The grounds for impeachment thing is because Obama apparently did nothing and then lied to the public. Both are false, obviously.
I believe there are also stats out there about Bush having tons more deaths at various bases happen under his watch. Does anybody know more about that?

What is confusing about the timeline? It seems pretty straightforward to me and most of the things that are a potential scandal are the result of incomplete information.
I still haven't figured out what this alleged conspiracy is covering up. That 4 people died? No shit.

US senator (D-HI) and President pro tempore of the Senate Daniel Inouye dead at 88
Inouye was the most senior senator at the time of his death. He was also the second longest serving U.S. Senator in history after Robert Byrd.
That is quite a loss.

Everything is Possible. But some things are more Probable than others. JEBAGEDDON 2016If a Senate seat becomes vacant, the Governor appoints a replacement if the State's legislature is not in session, otherwise the legislature appoints the Senator. I believe Hawaii's legislature is in adjournment, unless the Governor were to call a special session.
