Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

I am watching the BBC news channel on the Freeview service on my digital telly.
Romney has just said "I believe in America. I believe in the people of America." Not enough people in America believed in him.
When does Barry come on to make his "hell, yeah I won!" speech?

This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioIt must be hard knowing that you were almost the most powerful man in the world.
This is probably what Mc Cain, Kerry, Gore (especially Gore), Dole, Dukakis, Mc Govern, and all the rest felt.
BTW: I thought this was Romney's best speech.
Everything is Possible. But some things are more Probable than others. JEBAGEDDON 2016Isn't that the exact opposite of everything he's been saying for the past year?
Well Romney's has lots of experience with suddenly changing his tune.
And so marks the final television appearance ever by Mitt Romney.
I doubt it. At the very least, he'll probably be interviewed or on a talk show or something at some point.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayOf course my stream craps out half-way through his speech. Thank The Nine I still have telly.
I recall Mc Cain's speech being better but I might have just been more emotional about it.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? The debates really highlighted that there wasn't much difference in personal policies between the two, so I'm not surprised Romney can say that. He might even mean it.
We weren't really having a referendum on the man so much as the party. It was, by any reasonable standard, their battle to lose rather than their opponents' battle to win. They lost it. Whether they understand that and make adjustments remains to be seen.
