Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"You know, sometimes I think a celebrity just posts their opinions on twitter and shit because that's their opinion. Not because they're a celebrity, or used to be. I know it's unbelievable, but isn't expressing opinions what things like twitter are for?
So yeah, let's not bash on people for "relevancy" okay? This isn't that big a deal, and it's childish to assume that every ex celebrity is posting something just because they're a celebrity or think they're influential. Sometimes they just want to say something. Like the rest of us.
yeah. it was pretty much "one actual question about you and one question about football"
Obama got asked what he learned about america in office and if he thought he was successful in getting college playoffs.
Romney got asked how he survived on the campaign trail and what his favorite sports team was (The Patriots apparently)
The only thing I'm certain of here is that, whether they win or lose, the lunatic element in the Republican Party are doubtlessly going to crank up the crazy even further after today. Losing will just further cement the siege mentality and winning will drive that triumphalist ego through the ceiling.
And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)

That was really cute.
