Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Serocco, you're sounding more and more like a leftist, obstructionist Tea-Partier,while I do not like what Obama has done myself the fact is the third party would be useless anyway. No one can blame him for the actions he's done after 2010,of course he had just been an iron Reagan and shoved a public option and everything before that election,it never would've come to that.
Besides Gary Johnson still supports a helluva lot of bullshit economic policies that got us into this mess anyway.
Voting on principle just means a loss, unless you're conservative. You have to live in Europe if you want to vote as a principled liberal because this country is just too conservative for any meaningful changes by the left. If it were any other way,we'd have elected Mc Govern in '72 or re-elected Carter, those elections were the last chance to stop over-conservatism.
Mc Govern screwed himself over with Eagleton.

Ohio official: Voting machine lawsuit 'ridiculous'
Wow, so Jon Husted, the Republican secretary of state in Ohio, was just on CNN and he talked about he thinks that Ohio WON'T end up being like Florida in the 2000 election, despite the fact he's pretty much trying to suppress anyone who means to vote for the Democrats. Oh, and he's pretty much severely restricted early voting.
UAW president rallies workers in NH to oppose Romney
It is? Well then he's not threatening to kick them out so that's good. I guess if he's not forcing them to vote or anything it's okay. I just don't like companies and unions forcing their workers/members to support certain candidates. I'm not saying the organization can't be for a candidate I just don't want them to try and blackmail their workers/members into supporting someone.

The lot of you who are not yet old enough to vote had better remember the ABSOLUTE INSANE BATSHITTERY FROM THE REPUBLICANS next year, when local/municipal/state elections are up.
And then the year after that, when all of the House and 1/3 of the Senate is up.
And then the year after that, when local/municipal/state elections are up.
And then the year after that, when the presidency and all of the House and 1/3 of the Senate is up.
And so on.
And vote accordingly.
Cute: I'm in the Fairfax area.
