Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Romney's China policy is sheer lunacy. Even his corporate backers are secretly praying that he doesn't really mean anything he says.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayRomney is actually starting to sound like President Ackerman.

Not really. With drones you can wait for the time and place to minimize the chance of damage. With an invasion you have to shoot whoever gets in the way.
Did you you not loo at the reports? People are living in fear because they don't know when a drone will strike them down. In fact, we send drones during funerals.
Both Romney and Obama are for that.

In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl."Of COURSE not! I would NEVER liquidate the auto industry! It's RIDICULOUS!"
Drone strikes are still expensive, indiscriminate, and hilariously bad for our image abroad.

It's still orders of magnitude better than an invasion.

Normally, I don't approve of personal attacks. However, in this case, this was in response to Obama calling out Romney on his flip-flopping. Throughout the debate, he had been consistently changing his views, which ended up completely different from his previously stated view.
Honestly, personal attacks are only bad if you say "Well, your plan is bad, and this is why" instead of "Your plan is bad, this is why, and you've been lying, now here's how I can do better."
@Serocco,
Of course Drone Strikes are bad. But invasions are worse.
Besides if you live in countries like Afghanistan, every day is spent in fear.
@ johnnyfog,
And invasions aren't?

Everything is Possible. But some things are more Probable than others. JEBAGEDDON 2016

Drone strikes offer just as much collateral damage as an invasion.

Do you guys know any reasonable forums with a strong conservative lean? I really want both sides of the story.
I don't know about forums, but The Economist is a good news source with a libertarian and pro corporate bias. Of course they still believe in facts, so it's not quite a Republican fest.
