Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

The "America Needs Romney" advertisement blimp crashed in Florida.
It landed in a heavily democratic part of Florida, which has me laughing. And no one was hurt, thankfully.

Yeah, I'm just gonna call it Foreshadowing. Or perhaps a warning.
No injuries or fatalities. They made an emergency landing, it just looked like it crashed.

God is wonderful, isn't HE! I should know - but I try not to preach about it too much, because... Not stupid about it... And... actually (semi-)sane.
I've found this on YouTube: it was shown last week. It's relevant: Panarama, Kill at Will: America on Trial.
You've got a crazy legislation system, folks. -.- And, the relative silence on the gun issue by both candidates isn't going to do much to highlight it.

I found this very useful voter information guide
. You should all check it out!
Reminder!
- The final presidential debate between the president and the former governor of Massachusetts will air today, about an hour from this post. It will be about foreign policy.
- The third-party debate
, moderated by Larry King, will be tomorrow, same time as the above one. It will feature former Virginia-sent representative Virgil Goode (Constitution), former governor of New Mexico Gary Johnson (Libertarian), former mayor (Salt Lake City, Utah) Rocky Anderson (Justice), and Dr. Jill Stein from Massachusetts (Green). I don't know if anyone will air it live, but hopefully it will be available soon.
- As mentioned before, Gary Johnson and Jill Stein already had an online debate. The UPDATED VERSION
here
.

Yup, there dead even now.
And wow, Bush is going to be a big word here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXkI1sTDoEgObama needs to suavely point out Romney's similarity to Bush and how his policies will fuck us like how Bush's did. How world leaders will not be able to communicate with Romney and he''ll be using a more steroid version of Bush's fear mongering and catering to corporate dickheads.
"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenObama buddy, you need to win this, our we are screwed.
HERE WE GO!
