Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Barr stopped supporting Trump when Trump ordered him to arrest Obama and Biden for the Russian investigation, which had a non-0% chance of getting him killed or arrested himself.
Then add the Trumpeeters protesting on his lawn, demanding he be killed plus getting Covid-19.
I think that was a message that Trump was not the God King he'd imagined.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.here is the APNews report of the Biden broken foot
I guess.
The important thing to learn from this news that I am sure everyone is wondering about is...that Biden has a german Sheperd named Major and he is a good doggo yes he is
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesBarr can feel which way the wind is blowing. Simple as that. Republicans are only loyal to themselves. He's not about to be on the record lying for an ex-POTUS facing the last days of his Presidency.
I once again urge everyone to keep in mind that Trump is not the Archnemesis of American Politics. I know the last four years have been rough, but try not to get so fixated on how nakedly, shamelessly bad Trump is that you mistake him as the source of all evil.
In our government, the Presidency is the "Fifteen Minutes of Fame" role. You get to stand out there on center stage shining as bright as you can for four to eight years, and then you're done. Old news. Get out. Nobody cares anymore. The real political movers, the career public servants in Congress and SCOTUS gripping the reins of power for decades at a time, just move right along to the next hotshot POTUS.
Trump is right on the edge of becoming So Last Season. He's leaving Washington in January. He doesn't have a lot of leverage left to instill loyalty with.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I think we get that, Tobias. I agree with you, but when every other post is "Trump was never the archnemesis of america!" it gets kinda repetitive reading your replies. No offence.
Watch SymphogearYou know, the lesson the Republicans are going to take from all these failed lawsuits and recounts and worthless fraud investigations is that they need to work harder to suppress the vote before the election.
It's easier to steal an election by stopping votes than it is to stop counting already cast votes.
Of course. But when every other post is "Trump was never the archnemesis of American politics" instead of a post about the different ways Trump is an asshole, it gets kinda tiring trying to read it all.
Watch SymphogearTrump also appointed endless numbers of cronies, fired many civil servants, and put endless numbers of judges in power. He also attacked the norms, laws, and defenses of this nation's democracy.
So, yes, he is in fact the Archenemy.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. What has astounded me is the fact that there have been Republicans in Congress for decades now even after the 1960s because some people have been always perfectly fine with voting for a Jerkass. They genuinely believe that Republicans are the champions of life, liberty and happiness when in reality it's the other way around.

Of course Donnie isn't the root of all evil! The root of all evil is Cthulhu hidden under McConnell's desk!
