Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Donald Trump Jr. has tested positively for COVID
. Depending on how long temporary immunity lasts, if they're sufficiently stupid enough Trump may catch it yet again.
If Don Sr. truly cares about Don Jr., he would make sure they both stay quarantined away from each other. Of course, I'm inclined to doubt that he actually does.
"Wow, no Mega Togekiss in Legends Z-A. Or any non-Froslass new Sinnoh Mega Evolutions. Round of applause, everybody." - DawnAnd on Hannity yesterday night, we've got Rudy Giuliani saying "{Democratic Leadership} is so corrupt, somebody better cut their head off".
He was then promptly cut off by Fox after making that statement.
Like seriously, Conservatives are soon going to be beheading people because of creeps like Giuliani and Bannon...

That's what's been reported in this thread, yes. T**** called Murdoch to complain about Fox calling Arizona so early and Murdoch refused to retract that call. T**** then went on a Twitter tirade complaining about Fox and now they're not friends anymore.

Yeah, Fox calling Arizona for Biden was taken as a personal insult to the point either Kushner or Trump (don't remember which) tried to call Murdoch to whine about it, at which point he told them to suck a cactus.
I don't think Murdoch ever actually liked trump much in the first place, he just saw him as a means to an end.
I mean, Fox did call Arizona for Biden way earlier than the other networks, and most pundits were saying that Arizona was still looking like it could go either way at the time.
So despite the fact that the call ended up being accurate, I can't entirely dismiss the idea that the knowledge that Trump was watching Fox rather than any other network might've factored into the decision to call it.
Which is...more than a little tiresome.
This was from a few pages back, but I actually do have something I want to add on to it.
I think a large part of this comes from the fact that liberals/progressives are supposed to be for tolerance/acceptance (I've seen various people try and use that as a sort of gotcha against those who point out the wrongs Republicans though), and thus it only fits their rhetoric more to be the ones to reach out.
Of course, that's a tactic acknowledgement that being tolerant and accepting of others isn't a general conservative principle in which case 1) why aren't you thinking about what that actually says about them and 2) why do you think reaching out to them would mean anything.
There's the general (likely willful) inability to understand that it's possible to fairly and genuinely be able to evaluate positions that differ from your own, and still come to the conclusion they have no merit.
The Democrats, as a rule, do not just reject everything Republicans want just because Republicans want it. The same cannot be said for Republicans.

Mentioned that about half a page up.
Another presidential predictor down the drain with this election: Ohio didn't vote for the winning candidate for the first time since JFK.
