Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Apparently Trump stranded another wallet crowd at low temps at night.
@People asking how Asian allies like Trump around
- He did the trade war because they see his views on who China's unfair (aside from COVID stuff) and his administration condemned Hong Kong. That's from articles/commentaries I see on the interwebs in my area.
I feel like it's the same views in Manila.
Some would like to see the Democrats back, but only on how they can get strong against China and condemn what's happening in Hong Kong.

So, I don't think it's been brought up yet, but a caravan of Trump supporters (flags on their trucks and everything) surrounded Biden's campaign bus in Texas and tried getting it to slow down, up to the point of colliding
with other vehicles nearby to surround it. Police were called by the bus occupants, so no incident there, thank God.
But that said, when Trump retweeted a video of his supporters surrounding the bus? "I LOVE TEXAS!
" was the reply.
Went through the last 6 pages with "Texas" in the auto-find and nothing related to the story came up. At least I did provide the new info of Trump's explicit stamp of approval, which makes Trump Jr's. earlier "Have some fun" comment a lot harder to invoke plausible deniability on.

"Why would I inflict myself on somebody else?"It's essentially due to the reversal of what they've always been doing. Whenever the Democrats agreed to meet in the middle, the Republicans then moved back six more steps and laughed.
Now the Republicans have moved back....and the Democrats have moved their own way and people are outraged by the Republicans' tactics, joining the Democrats. The Republicans have called the Democrats weaklings for years and behaved badly—and they now are stunned people are resisting.
Their entire ideology can't deal with this becasue it depends on them being bullies. People fighting back only allows them to double down.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I do believe Mega cults will weaken once Biden becomes president and we move on to 2021... They will organise protests here and there and may organise massive protests in major holidays like Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving day and Christmas. But they will become same as Pro-Park faction in Korea... A major annoyance but have no real political power whatsoever.
Bill Barr's house was assaulted by Trumpeteers today, demanding he lock up Biden.
Trump has also been condemning him lately.
I've got to say, I wonder if Bill will be taking up drinking.

The Republicans are rapidly building up their own Reign of Terror.
Bill Barr probably realizes now that Trump is not the Catholic autocrat he wanted and that he is completely expendable to the man. The fact he didn't go after Biden with fake charges and treason is enough that he will be thrown to the wolves next.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I'm a page late and it's a bit off topic, but I'd like to note that the comment section on Korean news sites in no way represents majority/mainstream opinion in South Korea. Sometimes, by coincidence, the two happen to converge, but it shouldn't be used as your barometer for what the average person thinks.

@Imca: Well, guess I'll just have to be drunk instead of asleep, then.
It's been fun.
