There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations

before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

I agree, Trump would have done these rallies regardless. He uses them as a stress coping mechanism, basically, as well as boosting his ego and morale.
And yes, the Super Bowl ads were a costly mistake, and a large reason why the funding is suddenly drying up, on top of general mismanagement. It's not even just fraud, from the sound of it, they just did not know how to run an efficient campaign.
Hope shines brightest in the darkest timesIt’s also just part of how Trump is, they’re spending a chunk of their ad budget in DC because Trump needs the ego boost from seeing his own ads. Combine that with the gritting and he’d be running low on money even if he has campaign staff who knew how to spend it efficiently.

This whole comment thread on a tweet talking about how Trump was bragging about how he’ll win Texas because Biden wants to "take away" God, on Fox and Friends
made me laugh.
We need to take this seriously, guys. [1]
I agree! TI-80 is a scientific calculator! You know how GOP can’t stand science! They find science and his friends idiots! That is an instrument of evil and a weapon of mass destruction. They’ll wage war against Texas Instruments soon! [2]
That is FAKE NEWS! It was a TI-83 Plus and I found it in Bayport, WI! It had plans to not only get rid of God, but also had the complete order of battle for the War on Christmas! I don't know why the MSM is not reporting on this. I gave them photos of the printouts of the files. [3]

You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midI don’t think it’s so much about passing the buck to Biden as it’s about his ideological opposition to poor people. It’s not a manoeuvre for political gain, blocking government support to the needy is objective in of itself.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranBesides, I'm sure Biden would already have been taking that into account since months ago.
My musician pageApparently Trump bailed on a 60 Minutes interview only 45 minutes in.
Afterwards, he attacked Lesley Stahl (the interviewer) on Twitter, so it's safe to say the whole interview went pretty poorly.
President Trump abruptly cut off an interview with the "60 Minutes" star Lesley Stahl at the White House on Tuesday and then taunted her on Twitter, posting a short behind-the-scenes video of her at the taping and noting that she had not been wearing a mask.
The bizarre events occurred after Mr. Trump had grown irritated with Ms. Stahl's lines of questioning, according to two people familiar with the circumstances of the taping.
One person briefed on what took place said that Mr. Trump had spent more than 45 minutes filming with Ms. Stahl and her CBS News crew, and that the taping had not wrapped up when the president's aides had expected it to.
So Mr. Trump cut the interview short, and then declined to participate in a "walk and talk" segment with Ms. Stahl and Vice President Mike Pence, the people said.
Shortly afterward, Mr. Trump posted a six-second video clip on his Twitter account that appeared to show Ms. Stahl at the White House after the interview ended. "Lesley Stahl of 60 Minutes not wearing a mask in the White House after her interview with me," Mr. Trump wrote, adding, "Much more to come."
In fact, Ms. Stahl had worn a mask at the White House up until the start of her taping with Mr. Trump, including when she first greeted the president, according to a person familiar with the interview.
The video posted by Mr. Trump shows Ms. Stahl immediately after the interview ended, as she conferred with two CBS producers, both of whom were wearing masks. The CBS crew was tested for the coronavirus prior to entering the White House on Tuesday, the person said.
Ms. Stahl has interviewed Mr. Trump twice since the 2016 election, including his first televised interview after winning the presidency. She also filmed with Mr. Trump at the White House in October 2018. Ms. Stahl was hospitalized with the coronavirus in the spring and has since recovered.
The president and Mr. Pence were participating in a "60 Minutes" episode set to air on Sunday. The episode is also expected to feature interviews with Mr. Trump's Democratic opponent, Joseph R. Biden Jr., and his running mate, Senator Kamala Harris of California.
Mr. Biden taped his interview with the "CBS Evening News" anchor Norah O'Donnell on Monday. He has not yet tweeted about it.
I find it patently ridiculous that Trump has the gall to snipe at Ms. Stahl when he is also the man who had to be forced into wearing a mask by public pressure and the one who has been holding these superspreader rallies.
So, let's hang an anchor from the sun... also my TumblrThat incredibly subtle dig, though.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.Oh wow, the Trump campaign is super broke. From the New York Times

I get the feeling he'd be doing the rallies anyway. That's how he gets his self-gratification. He did blow through a good chunk of his billion dollar election fundraising
on "Super Bowl advertising, legal fees, 'unnecessary overheard,' and Trump-affiliated properties."
Mike Murphy, the Republican half of Hacks on Tap, said this to the AP:
"[Trump's campaign] spent their money on unnecessary overhead, lifestyles-of-the-rich-and-famous activity by the campaign staff and vanity ads way too early. You could literally have 10 monkeys with flamethrowers go after the money, and they wouldn’t have burned through it as stupidly,"
